AIF Names Terrence Foster As Commissioner

American Indoor Football Appoints Terrence Foster as Commissioner to Usher in New Era of Stability and Growth

Indoor Football Veteran Brings Two Decades of Player, Coaching, and Executive Experience to Lead AIF’s Next Chapter

December 16, 2025 – American Indoor Football (AIF) is proud to announce the appointment of longtime indoor football veteran Terrence Foster as the league’s new Commissioner. This decisive move is designed to inject deep-rooted experience and proven leadership into the AIF.

Foster is one of the most respected figures in the indoor football world, bringing more than two decades of unparalleled experience to the Commissioner’s role. His extensive career arc includes tenures as a professional player, a head coach, and a team executive across multiple leagues, giving him a perspective that spans the locker room, the sidelines, and the front office. This comprehensive background is seen as critical to guiding the AIF into a new period of operational stability and competitive excellence.

Larry Clark, AIF Director of Operations, emphasized the value of Foster’s leadership at this pivotal juncture for the league. “I would like to welcome Terrence back to the AIF,” Clark said. “His proven leadership and professionalism will be essential as the league continues to move forward. I have worked with Terrence in the past, and that shared history gives us a strong foundation. His experience and approach strengthen the league.”

Foster’s appointment strengthens the AIF’s concentration on long-term, sustainable growth. His experience in developing players, managing teams, and navigating the strategic landscape of indoor football over the past twenty years makes him the ideal candidate to lead the league.

Foster’s history in the sport is rich, encompassing various eras of the indoor game, from the Arena Football League (AFL) and AF2 to the emergence of key regional leagues. He is widely known for his adaptability, his steady leadership under pressure, and an intense commitment to elevating the sport’s quality both on and off the field. A former finalist for Assistant Coach of the Year, Foster is particularly respected for his hands-on approach to player and staff development, leaving a lasting impact on numerous competitive programs.

This combination of operational understanding and on-field acumen provides Foster with a rare perspective: one grounded equally in the competitive realities of football and the complex business decisions that shape a league’s ultimate success.

Upon accepting the role, Commissioner Foster outlined a clear and actionable vision for the American Indoor Football league.

“It’s an honor to step into the role of Commissioner,” Foster said. “Indoor football has been my life for more than 20 years, and I believe strongly in the mission and promise of the AIF. This league has a rich history and a passionate fan base. My focus is on building a stable, competitive, and player-focused environment that sets the standard for indoor football nationwide.”

Foster highlighted the importance of leveraging the AIF’s recent expansion but stressed that growth must be accompanied by stringent competitive integrity and consistent operational standards across all franchises.

“Our goal is to elevate every aspect of the league—from player safety to officiating quality to the fan experience,” Foster continued. “The AIF has an opportunity to be a model for what a modern indoor football league should look like, and I’m dedicated to making that happen.”

As Commissioner, Foster will assume immediate oversight of league operations, competition policies, officiating standards, team relations, and long-term strategic planning as the AIF prepares for its upcoming indoor season.
