STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | April 12, 2026 — The Dallas Wings continued to shape their roster ahead of the 2026 season, announcing the addition of four players to training camp contracts: forward Amy Okonkwo, guard Costanza Verona, guard Shyanne Sellers, and forward/center Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu.
The signings reflect Dallas’ strategy of building depth and fostering internal competition as the team prepares for training camp and final roster decisions.
Building Momentum with the Dallas Wings
Okonkwo returns to the Wings after making an immediate impression during her WNBA debut in 2025. The 6-foot-2 forward appeared in eight games for Dallas under hardship and rest-of-season contracts, averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per contest. Her scoring ability was on display throughout her brief stint, reaching double figures in five games, including a 20-point performance in a win over the Phoenix Mercury on Sept. 11.
Since her time in Dallas, Okonkwo has continued to develop overseas, most recently competing in Turkey’s KBSL with Beskitas, where she averaged 14.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. A former standout at TCU Horned Frogs, she also brings significant international experience as a two-time Olympian with Nigeria and a back-to-back FIBA AfroBasket MVP.
Verona adds international pedigree to the Wings’ backcourt. The starting point guard for the Italian national team, she recently helped Italy secure qualification for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup following a strong showing at the qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico. Verona averaged 6.8 points and a team-best 3.5 assists during the event, demonstrating her ability to orchestrate offense at a high level.
At the club level, Verona has been a consistent presence in Italy’s Serie A1 since 2018 and has spent the last five seasons with EuroLeague contender Schio. Her résumé includes multiple domestic titles, including three Italian Supercups and five Italian Cups. During the 2025-26 season, she averaged 8.8 points and 4.0 assists, further solidifying her reputation as a steady and experienced floor general.
Sellers enters camp with a combination of collegiate production and professional upside. Selected 17th overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Golden State Valkyries, the 6-foot-2 guard showcased versatility during her career at Maryland, earning First Team All-Big Ten honors and recognition as one of the conference’s top defenders. Although she did not make a regular-season roster in 2025, Sellers continued her development overseas with Maccabi Haifa in Israel, where she posted a team-leading 21.9 points along with 7.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
Her all-around skill set could make her a compelling option for Dallas as the team evaluates its guard rotation heading into the season.
Fankam Mendjiadeu provides additional size and familiarity within the organization. Originally drafted 21st overall by the Seattle Storm in 2023, the 6-foot-3 forward/center reunites with Wings head coach Jose Fernandez, who previously coached her at South Florida. During her collegiate career, she earned AAC Co-Player of the Year honors and helped lead the Bulls to a conference championship.
Fankam Mendjiadeu has gained valuable experience at the professional level, appearing in 41 WNBA games across two seasons with Seattle. She has also played internationally in Spain, France, and Serbia, most recently averaging 16.3 points and 8.0 rebounds for Crvena Zvezda during the 2025-26 campaign.
Together, the four additions bring a blend of WNBA experience, international success, and emerging talent to Dallas’ training camp. The Wings’ front office has prioritized versatility and competition this offseason, and these signings align with that vision by introducing players capable of contributing in multiple roles.
As training camp approaches, Dallas will evaluate how each player fits within a roster that continues to evolve following a series of high-profile moves. With a mix of proven contributors and developmental prospects, the Wings are positioning themselves to enter the 2026 season with depth, flexibility, and increased competition across the lineup.
