July 7, 2025 | Arlington, TX – Fresh off one of the most historic nights in franchise and league history, the Dallas Wings have announced a major venue change for their highly anticipated Aug. 1 home game against the Indiana Fever. The matchup, originally slated for College Park Center in Arlington, will now be played at the larger American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. Tipoff remains at 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast nationally on ION.
The decision comes just over a week after a landmark moment for the Wings and the WNBA, when 20,409 fans packed American Airlines Center for the June 27 matchup between these same two teams. That game not only set a Dallas Wings franchise record for regular-season attendance, but also entered the league’s record books as just the eighth WNBA regular-season game to top 20,000 in attendance — and 10th overall including playoffs.
The move signals the Wings’ response to overwhelming fan interest and soaring ticket demand surrounding games featuring the Indiana Fever and rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, alongside Dallas’s own rising stars such as Paige Bueckers and JJ Quinerly.
Ticketing Information and Refund Policy
Fans who purchased tickets for the original College Park Center venue will receive automatic refunds via AXS, the Wings announced. Season Ticket Members and group ticket buyers will have their seats relocated to comparable locations at American Airlines Center.
New tickets for the relocated game will be available through Ticketmaster starting Friday, July 11 at 10 a.m. CT.
For questions or concerns related to ticketing, fans are encouraged to contact the Dallas Wings Ticket Office by phone at (817) 469-9464 or via email at tickets@dallaswings.com.
Riding the Wave of Momentum
The Wings-Fever clash on June 27 was a marquee moment not just in terms of attendance. It also drew 1.14 million viewers on ION, making it the most-watched WNBA game on the network this season and seventh most-watched overall in ION’s WNBA broadcast history.
With the national spotlight firmly on the matchup, the decision to return to American Airlines Center is both a logistical and strategic move. The larger venue offers significantly increased seating capacity compared to College Park Center, which holds just over 7,000 fans. AAC’s configuration — home to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and NHL’s Dallas Stars — allows the Wings to accommodate and capitalize on the growing interest in the WNBA.
Historic Company
By hosting a game that drew over 20,000 fans, the Dallas Wings joined elite WNBA company. Only three other franchises — the Washington Mystics, Las Vegas Aces, and the now-defunct Detroit Shock — have ever hosted a WNBA regular-season game with 20,000 or more fans in attendance. The Wings’ achievement reflects the broader surge in popularity and visibility of the league, fueled by a new generation of talent and increased national television exposure.
What It Means for the WNBA
This move further signals the shifting landscape of the WNBA, where demand for tickets, star power, and national interest are reaching new heights. While the Fever’s Caitlin Clark remains a marquee draw, the Wings’ own crop of rookies — including Bueckers, Quinerly, and Aziaha James — is fast becoming a storyline in its own right.
With postseason aspirations and a growing fan base, the Dallas Wings are stepping into the spotlight not just on the court, but as a market leader in fan engagement and event promotion.
Fans now have a second chance to be part of what could be another record-setting night on Aug. 1, as two of the league’s most talked-about teams return to center stage under the bright lights of downtown Dallas.
