Arlington, TX (June 30, 2025) – The WNBA’s brightest new star is officially heading to Indianapolis. Dallas Wings rookie guard Paige Bueckers has been named a starter for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, becoming the only first-year player selected to the elite 10-player lineup, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Bueckers was voted in by a combination of fans (50%), current WNBA players (25%), and media members (25%), solidifying her status as one of the league’s most electrifying talents—just halfway through her debut season.
The 6-foot guard has dominated the rookie leaderboard, ranking:
-
1st in scoring (18.4 PPG)
-
1st in assists (5.8 APG)
-
1st in steals (1.85 SPG)
-
4th in rebounds (4.4 RPG)
-
4th in blocks (0.92 BPG)
Her 35-point explosion against the Phoenix Mercury on June 11 remains the second-highest scoring performance of the 2025 WNBA season. She’s also the only rookie to record a points-assists double-double this year.
Bueckers, who averaged 21.6 points per game in June, now joins an elite class of rookies who have started the All-Star Game, including Caitlin Clark (2024), Aliyah Boston (2023), Brittney Griner (2013), Maya Moore (2011) and Sue Bird (2002).
The 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, airing live on ABC, Disney+, and ESPN+ at 8:30 p.m. ET. An extended edition of WNBA Countdown will precede the broadcast at 8 p.m. ET.
With starters locked in, league coaches will now vote to fill out the 12-player reserve pool, with selections announced Sunday, July 6 at noon ET via WNBA social and digital platforms.
The final All-Star rosters will be selected in a televised draft, airing Tuesday, July 8 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, with captains picking from both the remaining starters and selected reserves.
Head coaches for the game will be determined based on team records through July 4, regardless of conference.
The All-Star weekend will also feature marquee events like the STARRY® 3-Point Contest, Kia Skills Challenge, and WNBA Live presented by Panini, with festivities kicking off Friday, July 18 on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET.
From UConn legend to Dallas rookie sensation, Paige Bueckers continues to shine—and now, she’ll do it under the brightest lights of all.
