Tyler Head, one of the top high school arms in the nation and a projected top-150 pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, has officially reaffirmed his commitment to LSU, opting to play college baseball over immediately turning pro.
The right-handed pitcher from Georgia has drawn national attention with a fastball that touches the mid-90s, a polished secondary arsenal, and a competitive mindset beyond his years. With pro scouts tracking him closely throughout the year, Head’s future looked wide open—until now.
“I’m locked in with LSU,” Head confirmed. “That’s been the plan, and I’m excited for what’s ahead in Baton Rouge.”
The announcement marks a major recruiting win for LSU head coach Jay Johnson and pitching coach Nate Yeskie, who continue to attract top-tier talent from across the country. Head will join a strong 2025 class filled with elite arms and position players, further boosting the Tigers’ long-term outlook.
Although MLB interest remains high, Head has reportedly told teams he plans to honor his college commitment—sending a clear message that his focus is on development at the collegiate level before making the jump to the pros.
With LSU reloading after another deep postseason run, the addition of a high-ceiling pitcher like Head underscores the program’s reputation as a premier launching pad for future big leaguers.
