Southern University has officially found its next head coach.
NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk will take the reins, sources confirm that “the deal is done.”
Faulk, who spent the past season as Colorado’s running backs coach, will leave Boulder to begin his first-ever head coaching role in Baton Rouge. An official announcement is expected Monday, December 1.
Just over a week ago, university officials traveled to Boulder to meet with Faulk, a New Orleans native. Sources say a prominent university donor played a key role in bringing him back to his home state.
Southern still has one game remaining in the regular season, facing Grambling State in the Bayou Classic on Saturday at 1 p.m.
