FC Dallas Forward Louicius Don Deedson Receives Haiti Call-Up for World Cup Qualifiers

FRISCO, Texas (Aug. 27, 2025) — FC Dallas forward Louicius Don Deedson has been named to the Haiti National Team for its upcoming final-round World Cup qualifying matches, the club announced Wednesday. The 24-year-old will join Les Grenadiers for fixtures against Honduras on Sept. 5 at Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao, and Costa Rica on Sept. 9 at the National Stadium of Costa Rica in San José.

Deedson’s selection marks the ninth international call-up for an FC Dallas player in 2025, underscoring the club’s growing global presence and continued role in contributing to international competition.

Early Days in Dallas

Since arriving at FC Dallas in mid-July from Danish side Odense Boldklub, Deedson has seen limited action, appearing in two matches. He made his MLS debut on Aug. 9 against the Portland Timbers, entering as an 87th-minute substitute. While his time in Major League Soccer is still in its early stages, his pace and creativity have already drawn attention from teammates and coaching staff eager to integrate him further into the attack.

For Dallas head coach Nico Estévez, Deedson’s call-up provides another layer of validation for the club’s midseason acquisition. “Anytime a player represents his country on the international stage, it’s a reflection of both his individual quality and the strength of our roster,” Estévez said. “We’re proud of Louicius and look forward to seeing him perform for Haiti in these crucial qualifiers.”

International Experience

Though new to MLS, Deedson is no stranger to the international stage. The Tabarre, Haiti native made his senior debut for the national team on March 25, 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Belize. Since then, he has earned 22 caps and tallied eight goals and eight assists, establishing himself as one of Haiti’s most dynamic attacking options.

Most recently, Deedson represented Haiti in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, where he scored a memorable goal in the 19th minute against the United States at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — a strike that underscored his ability to deliver in big moments against high-level competition.

High Stakes for Haiti

The upcoming qualifiers carry enormous significance for Haiti. Facing Honduras and Costa Rica — two of the region’s most seasoned programs — Les Grenadiers will need maximum points to keep their World Cup hopes alive. Deedson’s versatility as both a winger and forward provides head coach Gabriel Calderón with an important weapon, especially in matches where Haiti will likely look to strike on the counter.

Deedson’s ability to stretch defenses with his pace, combined with his knack for creating chances, will be crucial as Haiti battles for one of Concacaf’s coveted World Cup slots. His experience against top international opponents makes him a valuable asset in what promises to be a demanding pair of fixtures.

Dallas’ Global Footprint

For FC Dallas, Deedson’s selection adds to a banner year for international recognition. The club has now seen nine different players earn MoneyGram international call-ups in 2025, highlighting its reputation as both a talent developer and a destination for players competing at the highest levels.

From academy standouts breaking into the U.S. youth national teams to seasoned internationals like Deedson representing their countries in World Cup qualifiers, Dallas continues to play a prominent role on the global stage.

Looking Ahead

While Deedson prepares to join Haiti for its September qualifiers, Dallas will look to continue integrating him into its attacking system upon his return. His international experience, particularly in high-pressure matches, is expected to accelerate his adjustment to MLS play.

For now, Deedson’s focus shifts to helping his country inch closer to a World Cup berth — a dream that could further elevate both his profile and FC Dallas’ reputation as a club committed to fostering international-caliber talent.
