FC Dallas Opens 2026 Season at Toyota Stadium as MLS Releases World Cup-Shaped Calendar

STWF Sports|FRISCO, Texas|Nov. 20, 2025 — With the 2026 MLS season fast approaching, FC Dallas now has the full roadmap for its 31st campaign. MLS today released its complete league-wide schedule, confirming a 34-match slate that features early home-field advantages, a World Cup–interrupted summer, and a seven-game road gauntlet unlike anything the club has faced in recent years.

Dallas will kick off the new season on Saturday, Feb. 21, welcoming Toronto FC to Toyota Stadium in a season opener presented by CoServ. The club will open with back-to-back home matches against Eastern Conference opponents before embarking on its first road trip of the year to LAFC on March 7.

The 2026 season marks a major moment for Major League Soccer and FC Dallas fans: beginning next year, every MLS match will be available to Apple TV subscribers at no additional cost, integrating MLS coverage into the streaming service’s growing sports portfolio.

Strong Home Start Before World Cup Pause

The early slate offers Dallas a chance to bank crucial points at Toyota Stadium. After hosting Toronto on Feb. 21 and Nashville SC on Feb. 28, Dallas will face San Diego FC at home on March 14 before the first edition of the Texas Derby on March 21, when Houston Dynamo FC visits Frisco.

Two midweek home contests — April 22 vs. Minnesota United and May 13 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps — test the team’s depth before MLS pauses for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the May 23 match at Colorado.

In total, FC Dallas will play 15 regular-season matches before the World Cup break, a period that could define the tone of their playoff push.

MLS All-Star Week Headlines July Return

The league resumes play in July during the World Cup semifinals, but one of the summer’s marquee events will occur just before that. The 2026 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge (July 28) and MLS All-Star Game (July 29) will be held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, bringing top talent together just as league play restarts.

Dallas’ return to action begins with a grueling test: a seven-match road stretch starting July 22 at Portland. The July 25 match at San Diego FC airs nationally on FS1, and the run also includes two Wednesday matchups and a spotlight Sunday Night Soccer showdown on Aug. 30 at St. Louis City SC.

After 115 days away, Dallas finally returns home on Sept. 5 to face Sporting Kansas City.

**New Opponents, Historic Firsts”

In 2026, FC Dallas will face six teams from the Eastern Conference — Toronto, Nashville, D.C. United, New York Red Bulls, Charlotte FC, and Columbus Crew.

A particularly notable date comes on Oct. 10, when Dallas travels to Charlotte FC for the first regular-season meeting between the clubs. The only previous clash between the sides occurred during the 2023 Leagues Cup.

The final Texas Derby of the season arrives on Oct. 17 in Houston, followed by a closing stretch heavily weighted toward home fixtures. Dallas plays three of its final four matches at Toyota Stadium, a scheduling luxury no other MLS club enjoys.

The club ends its 2026 away matches with a Halloween-night showdown at Sporting Kansas City before wrapping up the regular season at home on Decision Day (Nov. 7) against the Colorado Rapids.

Key League-Wide Dates and Windows

The 2026 MLS calendar is heavily shaped by international competitions:

  • World Cup Pause: May 24 – mid-July

  • World Cup: June 11 – July 19

  • International Windows: March 23–31, June 1–9, Sept. 21–Oct. 6, Nov. 9–17

  • MLS Playoffs: Begin after November FIFA window

  • Decision Day: Nov. 7

Every Match on Apple TV

Beginning next season, all MLS games will be available via Apple TV with a standard subscription, giving fans access to FC Dallas matches without additional streaming fees. Apple will provide full MLS coverage, on-demand content, match previews, and leaguewide studio programming.

Additionally, Sunday Night Soccer returns as a marquee broadcast each week, promising enhanced production and expanded pre- and post-match features.
