BALTIMORE — June 26, 2025 — Former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been suspended 10 games by the NFL following the league’s investigation into multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. The league announced the punishment Thursday evening, citing violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.
Tucker, who spent 13 seasons with the Ravens and became the league’s all-time leader in field goal accuracy, was released on May 5. His suspension is set to begin on roster cutdown day, August 26, and he will be eligible for reinstatement on November 11, regardless of his current team status.
Allegations and Investigation
The NFL launched an investigation earlier this year after The Baltimore Banner reported that at least 16 massage therapists accused Tucker of inappropriate behavior between 2012 and 2016, during his tenure with the Ravens. The report sparked swift reaction across the league and within the Ravens organization.
Despite denying the allegations, Tucker has accepted the league’s resolution. His agent, Rob Roche, issued a statement Thursday expressing disappointment in the ruling.
“We are disappointed with the NFL’s decision,” Roche said. “Justin has always strived to carry himself in a way that would make his family and community proud. He stands by his previous statements. In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter.”
While suspended, Tucker remains eligible to sign with a team, participate in preseason games, and practice with a club, but he cannot play in regular-season games until Week 11.
Tucker’s Response
When the initial allegations surfaced earlier this year, Tucker responded via social media, stating:
“I have always made a conscious effort to be considerate and respectful in all of the interactions with the community that I love so much. It is devastating for me to learn that anyone would feel I was offensive in any way.”
His legal representatives have continued to deny any wrongdoing, and no criminal charges have been filed to date.
Ravens’ Decision and Fallout
The Ravens drafted kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round of April’s NFL Draft, a move that signaled a potential shift at the position. Tucker’s release came shortly after.
General Manager Eric DeCosta emphasized at the time that the decision to part ways with Tucker was based on roster evaluations.
“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances,” DeCosta said. “Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker.”
However, in a February press conference, DeCosta acknowledged the allegations as “serious” and “concerning,” while emphasizing that the franchise would wait for the league’s findings before making a final decision.
Looking Ahead
Tucker, 35, remains a free agent but could find interest from teams in need of a veteran kicker once his suspension ends. He holds numerous NFL records and was considered one of the best kickers of his generation — now, his legacy hangs in the balance amid off-the-field scrutiny.
The NFL has not confirmed whether any additional disciplinary action could follow if more evidence or allegations emerge.
