Frisco RoughRiders and CoServ Team Up for Annual Coat Drive Benefiting Frisco Family Services

STWF|Frisco|Nov. 10, 2025 The Frisco RoughRiders are stepping up to the plate for a cause that hits close to home. The Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers announced the launch of their annual CoServ Coat Drive, set to run from Monday, November 10 through Friday, December 12 at Riders Field. The community-focused initiative will directly benefit Frisco Family Services, continuing a long-standing tradition of giving back to local residents in need during the winter season.

Warm Hearts, Warm Coats

Fans and community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used coats at the RoughRiders Administrative Office, located at the corner of Diamond Drive and Texas Rangers Drive. In appreciation for their generosity, each donor will receive four tickets to the RoughRiders’ 2026 Home Opener on Tuesday, April 7, while supplies last.

“It’s always a privilege to team up with CoServ to help our neighbors in need,” said RoughRiders General Manager Scott Burchett. “Both CoServ and Frisco Family Services give so much back to our community, and we’re grateful to partner with them once again.”

Burchett’s comments underscore the RoughRiders’ ongoing commitment to community outreach — an ethos that has become as much a part of the team’s identity as the baseball played at Riders Field.

A Lifeline for Local Families

Frisco Family Services, established in 1994, remains one of the city’s cornerstone nonprofits. The organization provides critical resources for residents facing hunger, homelessness, and financial crises, helping families and individuals rebuild stability and self-sufficiency.

The winter coat drive is one of many ways local organizations join forces to meet rising needs during the colder months. As inflation and cost-of-living challenges continue to affect North Texas families, initiatives like this one can make a major impact.

“Community collaboration is at the heart of what we do,” a representative from Frisco Family Services shared. “Partnerships like this remind families that they’re not alone — that their community cares.”

CoServ’s Ongoing Commitment

Founded in 1937 as Denton County Electric Cooperative, Inc., CoServ has grown into one of North Texas’s largest energy providers, serving more than 400,000 meters across the region. The company’s partnership with the RoughRiders reflects its deep-rooted dedication to community engagement beyond the utility sector.

By joining forces with the RoughRiders and Frisco Family Services, CoServ continues its long tradition of empowering local residents through support initiatives that go beyond electricity and natural gas delivery.

A Legacy of Leadership

Since their founding in 2003, the Frisco RoughRiders have not only become a mainstay of North Texas sports but also a symbol of community service. Through the RoughRiders Foundation, the organization invests in programs that promote education, good health, and volunteerism.

“The mission of the RoughRiders Foundation is to enhance the community we serve through charitable contributions and programming,” the team said in a statement. “Our goal is to motivate and reward children and families to stay active, educated, and engaged in service.”

That mission has been matched by innovation off the field. Under the ownership of Chuck Greenberg’s group since 2014, the Riders have invested millions in facility upgrades — including a state-of-the-art HD video board, the Bull Moose Saloon, and the fan-favorite Lazy River, which remains the largest water feature in any sports venue worldwide.

The Bigger Picture

The RoughRiders’ coat drive comes at a time when the franchise continues to thrive both competitively and culturally. Over 210 former Riders players have gone on to play in Major League Baseball, including Josh Jung, Evan Carter, and Wyatt Langford, now shining with the Texas Rangers.

The organization’s ability to blend professional excellence with community responsibility continues to define its reputation — not just as a baseball club, but as a pillar of the Frisco community.

Fans looking to get involved in the CoServ Coat Drive can visit RidersBaseball.com or call (972) 731-9200 for more information.

Bottom Line: The Frisco RoughRiders are proving once again that their winning spirit extends far beyond the diamond. With the help of CoServ and Frisco Family Services, this year’s coat drive is poised to keep hundreds of North Texans warm — a true home run for the community.
