From Homemaking to Home End: Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City Ownership

STWF Sports | Dec. 23, 2025 – Swansea City’s ownership group has taken another unexpected yet eye-catching turn, with American billionaire entrepreneur and television icon Martha Stewart becoming the latest high-profile figure to invest in the Championship club. The 84-year-old businesswoman joins a growing list of celebrity co-owners that already includes hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and Croatia and Real Madrid star Luka Modrić.

Stewart’s involvement further strengthens Swansea’s unique blend of sports, entertainment, and global business influence, a model that has increasingly defined the club’s off-field identity in recent years. While the Swans continue to battle for stability on the pitch, their ownership group is rapidly becoming one of the most recognizable in the English Football League.

The announcement follows Stewart’s appearance at Swansea.com Stadium last week, where she watched the Swans come from behind to defeat rivals Wrexham 2-1 in a dramatic south Wales derby. The match proved an ideal introduction to Championship football, offering late goals, tension, and momentum-shifting moments.

Wrexham took the lead early after Cameron Burgess turned the ball into his own net, giving the visitors a first-half advantage. Swansea responded late, however, with Žan Vipotnik equalising with 20 minutes remaining before Adam Idah capitalised on a costly error from goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to secure all three points for the home side.

Following the match, majority owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen confirmed Stewart’s new role on the club’s official website.

“I am sure many of you will have seen that Martha Stewart was among those in attendance,” the statement read. “Martha is a close friend of Snoop Dogg and she came to the Wrexham game as our guest. But we are delighted to confirm Martha… has followed Snoop and Luka Modrić in becoming a minority owner of our football club.”

The owners added that Stewart’s first taste of a live Swansea match had only heightened her enthusiasm for the project, signalling a hands-on interest rather than a symbolic association.

Stewart built her fortune as a pioneer of the modern lifestyle industry, becoming America’s first self-made female billionaire in 1999. Through publishing, television, merchandising, and branding, she transformed homemaking into a global business empire. While her estimated net worth is now closer to $400 million, her influence and name recognition remain immense.

Her entry into football ownership reflects a broader trend of cross-cultural investment, where sports franchises are increasingly seen as global lifestyle brands rather than strictly athletic enterprises. For Swansea, Stewart’s arrival adds another layer of international visibility to a club already benefitting from Snoop Dogg’s cultural reach and Modrić’s footballing credibility.

On the pitch, Swansea could use the boost. The Swans sit 19th in the Championship table ahead of Boxing Day, though recent form has offered encouragement. Victory over Wrexham marked their third win in four matches, pulling Vítor Matos’ side further away from the relegation places at a critical point in the season.

Their next test comes against league leaders Coventry City, a daunting challenge given the gap between the two sides. Swansea then close out the calendar year with a home fixture against Oxford United before opening 2026 against West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom’s own struggles—just two wins in their last seven—have placed pressure on head coach Ryan Mason, adding intrigue to the early-January clash.

While Stewart’s investment will not immediately change results on the field, Swansea supporters will hope her presence, alongside the club’s other high-profile partners, continues to elevate the Swans’ profile and resources. For a club balancing tradition with modern ambition, the arrival of one of America’s most recognizable business figures signals that Swansea City’s story is increasingly being told far beyond south Wales.
