FRISCO, Texas (July 2, 2025) – The Frisco RoughRiders mounted a dramatic comeback to defeat the Arkansas Travelers 7-6 on Wednesday night at Riders Field, overcoming an early five-run hole to even the series.
The Travelers (5-3, 40-37) struck early and often, opening the scoring with a Lazaro Montes RBI single in the first inning. In the fourth, Arkansas exploded for four more runs, capitalizing on a Caleb Cali RBI groundout, a Nick Raposo run scored on a throwing error, and a Blake Rambusch RBI single to stretch the lead to 5-0.
But the RoughRiders (3-5, 41-35) responded emphatically in the bottom half of the fourth. Jax Biggers and Aaron Antonini each delivered RBI singles, Cam Cauley tied the game with a two-run double, and Abimelec Ortiz capped off the rally with an RBI single to even the score at 5-5.
Arkansas briefly regained the lead in the fifth with Raposo’s RBI infield single, but Frisco refused to fold. In the bottom of the seventh, Keyber Rodriguez lined a clutch RBI single to tie the game once again at 6-6.
Cauley, who finished 3-for-5, gave the Riders their first lead in the eighth with a go-ahead RBI groundout. Gavin Collyer then slammed the door in the ninth, working a scoreless frame to secure his team-leading seventh save of the season.
Josh Mollerus (1-0) earned his first Double-A win, tossing two scoreless innings in relief. Nick Davila (0-2) was tagged with the loss after surrendering the decisive run in the eighth.
