Jake Paul Says Tommy Fury Turned Down $15M Rematch Before AJ Fight Was Signed

STWF Sports|Nov. 18, 2025 – Jake Paul continues to dominate headlines ahead of his shocking December 19 heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua — and this time, he’s taking aim at a familiar rival. The YouTuber-turned-boxer alleged on Tuesday that Tommy Fury rejected a $15 million offer for a long-anticipated rematch, forcing Paul to pursue other blockbuster opponents before ultimately securing a deal with Joshua.

The revelation surfaced shortly after Paul announced the biggest fight of his career, a heavyweight clash in Miami against the former unified world champion. According to Paul, the Fury camp walked away from what would have been one of the richest paydays of Tommy’s career.

Paul: “He Didn’t Say Yes, Even for $15 Million”

Paul went public with the accusation on X, posting a fiery message aimed squarely at Fury and his father, John Fury.

“Respect due to all the fighters that said yes,” Paul wrote. “We had to put all options on the table… Guess who didn’t say yes, even for $15 million. B**** made you and your father, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy’s little boy.”

It was the latest explosive chapter in a rivalry dating back to 2023, when Fury handed Paul his first — and only — professional loss. The two have teased a rematch ever since, but negotiations have repeatedly collapsed.

Tommy Fury Fires Back: “Offer Me $15M Anywhere Else”

Fury did not stay silent for long. Hours later, the British boxer responded with a post of his own, explaining why he turned down Paul’s lucrative offer.

“Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can’t get to right now. Convenient,” Fury wrote. “Offer me the same $15 million anywhere else in the world and I’ll be there in eight weeks to shut you the f*** up and repeat what I did the first time.”

Fury then reminded Paul that he remains the only man to defeat him.

“And ‘daddy’s little boy’? If anyone’s a son here, it’s you… I gave you your first L.”

Given Fury’s ongoing travel restrictions, a U.S. venue — especially Miami — would have effectively ruled him out. Fury insisted the location was the primary deal-breaker, not the money.

Paul Lists His Other Options: “Canelo Injured, Ngannou Scared”

In a follow-up YouTube video, Paul detailed the behind-the-scenes process of selecting his next opponent. He claimed he evaluated several major stars before settling on Joshua:

  • Canelo Álvarez — injured

  • Francis Ngannou — “scared,” he said jokingly

  • Floyd Mayweather — “my brother beat him”

  • Mike Tyson — already fought

  • Lennox Lewis — “too young”

  • Ryan Garcia — “easy work”

Paul then circled back to Fury, insisting the Briton wanted more time to prepare — another reason the rematch fell apart.

Paul Explains Gervonta Davis Collapse: “You Bring the Past Into the Present, You’re Out”

Before landing the Joshua deal, Paul had been scheduled to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 14. That fight fell apart abruptly, and on Tuesday Paul explained why.

“He had a past of many arrests and accusations… we accepted that. But when you bring the past into the present with (alleged) domestic violence, you are out,” Paul said. “Tank fumbled the biggest bag of his career and ruined a relationship with Netflix.”

Now, It’s Joshua — And Paul Promises a KO

Paul declared his December 19 bout against Joshua the “biggest fight” of his career and embraced the role of underdog against a former heavyweight champion.

“I’m walking into the lion’s den,” Paul said. “I’m doing something that no one else has ever done before.”

He ended with a promise he’s delivered countless times:
to knock Anthony Joshua out and embarrass him.

The stakes are enormous, the trash talk has escalated, and with Fury out of the picture, Paul is locked into the most dangerous matchup of his life — just six days before Christmas, live on Netflix.
