Jake Paul Trolls in Santa Suit, Declares War on Anthony Joshua Before Heavyweight Bout

STWF Sports|Nov. 18, 2025 – Jake Paul has officially begun the psychological warfare ahead of his shocking December 19 showdown with former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua. Hours after the fight was announced, Paul wasted no time firing off a bold — and expletive-laced — promise: he’s going to knock Joshua out cold.

The bout, set for Miami, has already captured global attention for its sheer unpredictability. Joshua, a former unified heavyweight king with experience against the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Wladimir Klitschko, will step back into the ring for the first time since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in 2024. Paul, meanwhile, remains the most polarizing figure in combat sports — a YouTuber-turned-boxer who has turned spectacle into business and business into opportunity.

Now he’s claiming he’s about to shock the world again.

“I’m Going to Knock Anthony Joshua the F* Out!”**

Paul’s latest volley in the growing trash-talk storm came in the form of a holiday-themed training video posted by Most Valuable Promotions. Wearing a Santa suit while sprinting on a treadmill, “The Problem Child” delivered his message loud and clear.

“Santa’s got one wish for Christmas,” Paul shouted. “I’m [going to] knock Anthony Joshua the f*** out! Anthony Joshua, you’re a wussy. I’m [going to] come down your chimney and whoop that a**!”

It’s typical Paul: theatrical, provocative, meme-ready. And with Christmas just days after their clash, the timing was no coincidence.

Paul has spent the week training alongside UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley, who has become a frequent presence in his training camps. The duo’s chemistry — and Paul’s relentless self-promotion — have only amplified the spectacle surrounding this unlikely matchup.

A Massive Gap in Experience — But Confidence Isn’t Lacking

Despite Paul’s bravado, the reality is clear: this is the biggest and most dangerous challenge of his boxing career. His professional record sits at 12-1, built largely against MMA fighters, influencers, and aging legends. His lone heavyweight appearance came in his controversial exhibition-style bout with Mike Tyson earlier this year.

Joshua, even on a diminished run, represents a level Paul has never faced.

AJ has stood across from elite contenders and former champions, including Usyk, Klitschko, Joseph Parker, and Kubrat Pulev. His knockout victories over Klitschko and Francis Ngannou showcased his power and technical ability at its best. And while the former champion has been out of the ring since his 2024 stoppage loss, the gulf in pedigree between him and Paul remains massive.

Paul, however, insists he doesn’t care.

He believes his athleticism, unconventional style, and momentum give him more than just a puncher’s chance — he believes he can end Joshua.

Joshua’s Motivation: Money, Momentum, and a New Chapter

Joshua, 36, shocked the boxing world when he agreed to the fight, but he has been clear about his motivations. After time away from the ring, the British star is looking to deliver massive numbers, stay active, and reintroduce himself to the global market.

His response to Paul’s early trash talk was simple and cold: “I’m going to break Jake Paul’s face.”

Joshua sees the event not as a step backward, but as an opportunity to rebuild commercial power, potentially setting up another run at the heavyweight titles in 2026. If he can deliver a devastating finish, the spectacle could work in his favor. But a slow or unimpressive showing would leave him open to enormous criticism — something Derek Chisora stressed earlier this week.

The Fight Is Official — And Fully Sanctioned

Despite outrage from traditionalists, the bout is sanctioned as an eight-round heavyweight contest with 10oz gloves. It will count on both fighters’ professional records.

Critics call it a circus. Supporters call it the evolution of boxing’s entertainment era. Paul calls it his greatest opportunity yet. Joshua calls it business.

And on December 19, in Miami, both men will enter the ring with something to prove — Paul with dreams of an upset for the ages, and Joshua with the pressure of maintaining his standing as a former world heavyweight champion.

It’s spectacle versus pedigree. Viral power versus punching power. Christmas lights versus fight lights.

And Jake Paul insists he’s about to deliver the world’s most shocking holiday gift.
