FRISCO, Texas (July 1, 2025) — The Frisco RoughRiders return to Riders Field on Tuesday night to kick off a six-game homestand against the Arkansas Travelers, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as right-hander Ben Anderson (4-4, 3.94 ERA) takes the mound for Frisco, while Arkansas counters with Marcelo Perez (1-0, 4.50 ERA).
The RoughRiders (40-34) are looking to rebound after a tough series loss to Tulsa, having dropped four of their last five contests. Anderson, who owns a 2.04 ERA since May 9, will aim to continue his steady run on the bump and provide length to a bullpen that’s been heavily utilized of late.
One of Frisco’s biggest strengths this season has been its bullpen depth. A total of 11 different pitchers have recorded a save for the RoughRiders in 2025, making them the first team in Minor League Baseball to reach that mark. Gavin Collyer leads the club with six saves, tied for fourth in the Texas League.
As a unit, Frisco relievers have compiled 24 saves, tied for fifth-most in Double-A baseball. The bullpen owns a 4.23 ERA on the season—seventh in the Texas League—but has sharpened recently, boasting a 3.62 ERA in the month of June, good for fourth-best in the league over that span.
The Travelers (38-36) arrive in Frisco coming off a series win and are led by a high-powered offense and an improving rotation. Tuesday’s contest marks the first meeting of the season between the two clubs.
What to Watch:
-
Can Anderson keep the momentum going after back-to-back quality starts?
-
Will the RoughRiders’ bullpen maintain its stellar June form?
-
Can Frisco rediscover its offensive rhythm against a solid Arkansas pitching staff?
First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. CT at Riders Field.
