MiLB Game Recap: Moller Shines with Multi-Hit Night, But RoughRiders Shut Out 3-0 in Arkansas

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 5, 2025) — Despite a strong performance from catcher Ian Moller, the Frisco RoughRiders couldn’t solve Arkansas’ pitching staff, falling 3-0 to the Travelers in the series opener Tuesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

The loss dropped Frisco to 12-22 in the second half (50-52 overall), while Arkansas improved to 19-15 (54-49 overall) and continued to strengthen its position in the Texas League South Division race.

Travelers Break Through in the Fourth

The decisive inning came in the fourth when Arkansas strung together three consecutive run-scoring hits. Bill Knight opened the scoring with an RBI single, and Nick Raposo followed with an RBI double down the left-field line. Blake Rambusch capped the rally with an RBI single, staking the Travelers to a 3-0 lead that would hold the rest of the way.

Frisco starter Josh Trentadue (0-1), making his first start for the RoughRiders, was tagged with the loss after allowing the three runs in his outing. Arkansas reliever Charlie Beilenson (2-2) picked up the win, working two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while closer Jimmy Kingsbury secured his seventh save with a scoreless ninth.

Moller Stays Hot at the Plate

Though Frisco was unable to push runs across, Ian Moller provided a bright spot offensively, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. The 21-year-old catcher now has three multi-hit performances in his last six starts, showing improved consistency at the plate as he continues to establish himself as one of the Rangers organization’s most promising young backstops.

“Moller has been putting in the work, and it’s showing,” RoughRiders manager Carlos Cardoza said. “He’s making quality contact and giving us good at-bats, and that’s exactly what we need from him in the middle of our lineup.”

Bullpen Delivers Again

While the offense struggled, Frisco’s bullpen once again provided quality innings. Ryan Lobus turned in his best outing of the season, tossing 2.1 scoreless frames and setting new season highs in both innings pitched and strikeouts with five.

“He gave us a real chance to stay in it,” Cardoza said of Lobus. “When you come in and miss bats like that against a lineup as strong as Arkansas, that’s impressive.”

Avery Weems and Bryan Magdaleno also combined for two shutout innings, continuing the bullpen’s strong stretch.

Travelers Ride Pitching Depth

Arkansas leaned on a staff effort to secure the win. Starter Adam Macko limited damage in the early frames before turning it over to the bullpen, where Beilenson and Kingsbury slammed the door. The Travelers’ arms held Frisco to just five hits, two of them from Moller, and didn’t allow a single runner past second base after the fifth inning.

Looking Ahead

The RoughRiders will look to bounce back Wednesday as the series continues at 6:35 p.m. CST from Dickey-Stephens Park. Right-hander Leandro Lopez (0-0, 0.90 ERA) gets the ball for Frisco after impressing in his early outings. The Travelers will counter with left-hander Adam Seminaris (5-5, 2.73 ERA), one of their most consistent starters this season.

For Frisco, finding more offensive production beyond Moller will be key. The RoughRiders have scored just two runs over their last 18 innings, a trend they’ll need to reverse quickly against a Travelers team looking to extend its winning ways at home.
