STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| August 27, 2026 — Riders Field is set to welcome a major international baseball showcase this fall, as the Frisco RoughRiders announced that Charros de Jalisco of Mexico will face Cardenales de Lara of Venezuela in the Clásico Caribeño on Friday, Oct. 9.
The special matchup brings two of Latin America’s most accomplished clubs to North Texas and adds another marquee event to the RoughRiders’ calendar beyond the Minor League Baseball season.
Charros de Jalisco arrives with significant momentum after capturing back-to-back championships in Mexico and winning the 2026 Serie del Caribe. The club’s recent success has established it as one of the region’s premier organizations and gives the October matchup added significance for fans familiar with Caribbean baseball.
Cardenales de Lara brings an equally strong tradition. The Venezuelan club has won seven national championships and remains one of the country’s most recognizable professional teams.
