STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 13, 2026 — Frisco RoughRiders third baseman Rafe Perich has been named the Texas League Player of the Week for July 7–12 following a dominant offensive performance during Frisco’s six-game road series against the Corpus Christi Hooks.
Minor League Baseball announced the honor Monday, recognizing Perich after he led the Texas League with four home runs while consistently providing production in the middle of the RoughRiders’ lineup.
Perich becomes the third Frisco player to receive a Texas League weekly award during the 2026 season, joining the RoughRiders’ growing list of players who have delivered standout performances during the club’s postseason pursuit.
The Rising Star: Rafe Perich in the Texas League
Over six games in Corpus Christi, Perich batted .423, collecting 11 hits in 28 at-bats. He produced a .464 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage, finishing the week with an impressive 1.464 OPS.
His offensive totals also included three doubles, six RBIs, two walks and six runs scored.
Perich closed the series with his biggest performance of the week, launching two home runs during Sunday afternoon’s finale at Whataburger Field. The multi-homer effort was the first of his Double-A career and his third overall during the 2026 season.
His power helped Frisco defeat Corpus Christi 11-3 and secure a 4-2 series victory. Perich’s two-run homer in the third inning gave the RoughRiders a 4-1 advantage and continued an offensive surge that carried Frisco throughout the afternoon.
The weekly recognition represents another milestone in what has been an impressive first full professional season for the former Texas Rangers seventh-round draft selection.
Since the calendar turned to July, Perich has been one of the most productive hitters at the Double-A level. Through his first 11 games of the month, he is batting .419 with a .500 on-base percentage and an .860 slugging percentage. His 1.360 OPS during that stretch is supported by four home runs and eight RBIs.
Perich is also the only Double-A player to record five three-hit games during July, demonstrating that his recent success has extended beyond his ability to drive the baseball out of the park.
The 22-year-old began the season with High-A Hub City before earning a promotion to Frisco. He has continued to produce against more advanced pitching, quickly establishing himself as one of the most dangerous hitters in the Texas League.
Between Hub City and Frisco, Perich leads the Rangers organization with 21 home runs. His combined .313 batting average, .407 on-base percentage and .633 slugging percentage have generated a 1.040 OPS across the two levels.
His overall production also ranks among the best in the minor leagues. Perich stands fifth among all Minor League Baseball players in both slugging percentage and OPS, placing him in elite company during his breakout campaign.
Perich’s combination of power, plate discipline and consistent contact has made him an important part of a Frisco lineup that has featured contributions from throughout the roster. His ability to deliver in high-leverage moments has been especially valuable since his arrival in Double-A.
Several of Perich’s home runs with the RoughRiders have either tied games or given Frisco the lead, further highlighting his impact beyond the traditional numbers.
The Player of the Week award provides national recognition for a prospect who continues to strengthen his standing within the Rangers’ farm system. With the second half of the Texas League season underway, Perich’s development will remain one of the most compelling storylines surrounding the RoughRiders.
If his recent production is any indication, Perich is prepared to remain a central figure in Frisco’s lineup as the club continues its push toward the postseason.
