STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 18, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to rebound from a difficult series-opening loss when they host the Tulsa Drillers, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, on Saturday night at Riders Field.
Frisco RoughRiders Seek Redemption in Upcoming Match
First pitch for the second game of the three-game series is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Left-hander Cody Bradford is expected to make a rehabilitation appearance for Frisco against Tulsa left-hander Adam Serwinowski.
Bradford enters the outing with a 0-0 record and a 9.00 ERA during his rehab assignment. Serwinowski, meanwhile, brings a 7-2 record and a 5.10 ERA into the matchup.
Frisco will attempt to respond after falling 6-4 in Friday’s opener despite erasing an early three-run deficit. Tulsa jumped ahead in the first inning with four hits against RoughRiders starter Aidan Curry, building a 3-0 advantage before Frisco answered with an RBI single from Arturo Disla.
The Drillers added another run on a Mike Sirota sacrifice fly in the fifth, but Disla delivered again with a two-out, two-run single that pulled the RoughRiders within 4-3. Max Wagner completed the comeback in the eighth inning, launching a leadoff solo home run to tie the game.
Tulsa reclaimed control in the ninth when Josue De Paula hit a go-ahead two-run homer off Zach Bryant. Antonio Knowles then retired Frisco in the bottom half to secure his third save.
Although Curry allowed three early runs, the right-hander continued his impressive strikeout stretch. After tying his career high with 12 strikeouts over six innings against Corpus Christi, Curry has recorded 23 strikeouts across his last two starts and 11.2 innings.
His 12-strikeout performance was the highest total by a Texas League starter this season and the most by a Frisco starter since Victor Payano struck out 13 in 2016. The RoughRiders have produced 149 strikeouts over their last 13 games, the second-highest total in Minor League Baseball during that span.
Frisco’s lineup remains one of the most dangerous offensive groups in Double-A. The RoughRiders have hit 37 home runs over their last 19 games, the most in the Texas League and the fourth-most in the minors.
Their 120 home runs through 87 games already represent a franchise record. Frisco is also averaging a club-record 6.2 runs per game while leading Double-A with 794 hits.
Rafe Perich has been at the center of the offensive surge. The infielder has hit 10 home runs in his first 37 games with Frisco, with six either tying the game or giving the RoughRiders the lead. Frisco is 9-0 in games in which Perich homers.
The reigning Texas League Player of the Week leads the Texas Rangers organization with 21 home runs. He is batting .417 with a .491 on-base percentage and an .813 slugging percentage in July after collecting 20 hits in his first 48 at-bats of the month.
Frisco has also been particularly dangerous late in games. The RoughRiders lead Double-A with 188 runs scored in the seventh inning or later and have produced 16 eighth-inning runs over their last seven contests.
The Riders enter Saturday at 10-9 in the second half and 49-38 overall. Tulsa stands at 12-7 in the second half and 58-30 overall.
With a postseason berth already secured after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, Frisco will look to use Bradford’s rehab start and its record-setting offense to even the series under the lights at Riders Field.
