STWF Sports| WICHITA, Kan.| September 9, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to even their final series of the regular season Wednesday night when they face the Wichita Wind Surge, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, in Game 2 of a six-game set at Equity Bank Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT.
Right-hander Ben Anderson will take the mound for Frisco carrying a 3-6 record and 6.35 ERA. Wichita will counter with right-hander Preston Johnson, who enters the matchup at 1-3 with a 3.86 ERA.
Frisco enters Wednesday looking to rebound from an 8-2 loss in Tuesday’s series opener. The RoughRiders fell to 31-33 in the second half and 70-62 overall, while Wichita improved to 28-36 and 52-78.
The Wind Surge struck first Tuesday when Caden Kendle connected for a solo home run in the opening inning against Ismael Agreda. Frisco answered in the third as Sebastian Walcott continued his impressive stretch with a two-run homer that briefly gave the RoughRiders a 2-1 advantage.
Kendle quickly responded with his second home run of the night, a three-run shot that moved Wichita back in front, 4-2. The Wind Surge added three more runs in the fourth and another in the eighth to secure the victory.
Despite the setback, Walcott remains one of Frisco’s biggest storylines entering Game 2.
The Texas Rangers’ No. 1 prospect has now homered in six of his last eight games and carries a 12-game hitting streak into Wednesday. During that streak, Walcott is batting .429 with four doubles, six home runs and 21 runs scored.
Through his first 33 games with Frisco this season, Walcott is hitting .326 with 13 doubles, nine home runs, 20 RBIs and nine stolen bases. His emergence gives an already potent RoughRiders lineup another dangerous threat heading toward postseason play.
Dylan Dreiling has been another driving force behind Frisco’s historic offensive season. The Rangers’ No. 13 prospect leads the Texas League with a .314 batting average while ranking second with 143 hits and among the league leaders in OPS, RBIs, total bases and runs.
Dreiling has hit .371 over his last 46 games with 17 doubles, 11 home runs and 37 RBIs. His 22 home runs are the most by a RoughRiders center fielder in franchise history and the most by a primary Frisco outfielder since Mike Bianucci hit 30 in 2011.
Meanwhile, Max Wagner enters Wednesday riding a 10-game hitting streak. Wagner is batting .342 during that span with three doubles and three home runs. His 20 homers this season give Frisco two 20-home-run hitters alongside Dreiling, marking the first RoughRiders teammates to accomplish the feat in the same year since 2012.
Key Players for the Frisco RoughRiders in Game Two
Collectively, Frisco’s offense has produced one of the best statistical seasons in franchise history.
Through 132 games, the RoughRiders lead Double-A with 1,227 hits and a .272 batting average while ranking second with 794 runs scored. Frisco also leads the Texas League with 253 doubles, a .454 slugging percentage and an .813 OPS.
Late-game production has been another strength. The RoughRiders have scored 272 runs from the seventh inning or later, the most in Double-A, including a league-best 107 runs in the eighth.
Getting that offense going earlier will be important Wednesday, particularly after Frisco was held to two runs in the series opener. Since July 29, the RoughRiders are 13-5 when scoring at least six runs but just 2-16 when producing five or fewer.
Frisco has already secured its postseason berth after capturing the Texas League South Division first-half championship with a 39-29 record. The playoff appearance will be the franchise’s 11th and gives the RoughRiders another opportunity to pursue their third championship after titles in 2004 and 2022.
Before postseason baseball arrives, Frisco has five remaining chances in Wichita to finish the regular season with momentum.
