STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| September 10, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders continue their final regular-season series Thursday night when they face the Wichita Wind Surge, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, in the third game of a six-game set at Equity Bank Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with right-hander Cole Stasio (1-1, 5.34 ERA) set to start for Frisco against Wichita right-hander Ty Langenberg (1-6, 3.81 ERA).
The series is tied 1-1 after Frisco bounced back Wednesday with a 7-5 victory behind an impressive Double-A debut from center fielder Paxton Kling.
Kling immediately made his presence felt, finishing with two hits, three RBIs and a stolen base. He delivered an RBI double in the third inning and later drove in two more runs on a broken-bat single during Frisco’s four-run fifth.
The RoughRiders also received strong work from their bullpen. Leandro Lopez and Josh Trentadue combined to retire all 10 batters they faced before Wichita mounted a three-run rally in the eighth. Austin Roberts ended the threat and recorded the final four outs to earn his third save.
Frisco RoughRiders’ Path to Success
Frisco enters Thursday with a 32-33 second-half record and a 71-62 overall mark, while Wichita sits at 28-37 in the second half and 52-79 overall.
One of the biggest reasons for Frisco’s offensive success this season has been Dylan Dreiling. The Rangers’ No. 13 prospect ranks among the Texas League leaders in several categories, including batting average, hits, total bases, RBIs and runs.
Dreiling is batting .310 on the season and has 22 home runs, the most by a RoughRiders center fielder in franchise history. Over his last 47 games, he has hit .362 with 17 doubles, 11 home runs and 37 RBIs.
His recent 25-game hitting streak was the longest in the Texas League this season and one of the longest in franchise history. Dreiling also led all Minor League Baseball hitters with at least 70 at-bats in August with a .429 average.
Frisco has also received significant power from Max Wagner, who has 20 home runs this season. Dreiling and Wagner are the first pair of RoughRiders teammates to reach 20 homers in the same season since Mike Olt and Chris McGuiness accomplished the feat in 2012.
Another major contributor has been Sebastian Walcott, the Texas Rangers’ top prospect. Since returning from right elbow surgery, Walcott has provided another dangerous bat in the lineup. He enters Thursday riding a 13-game hitting streak, batting .407 during that stretch with six home runs and 21 runs scored.
Frisco’s offense has been historic throughout 2026. Through 133 games, the RoughRiders lead Double-A baseball with 1,237 hits and a .272 team batting average. They have also established franchise records in runs scored and home runs while posting the best slugging percentage and OPS in club history.
The RoughRiders have already secured a postseason berth after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title with a 39-29 record. Frisco will face Amarillo in the Division Series.
Before turning its attention fully to postseason baseball, however, Frisco has business remaining in Wichita.
Thursday night presents another opportunity for the RoughRiders to continue building offensive rhythm, sharpen their pitching staff and move above .500 in the second half as the regular season nears its conclusion.
