STWF Sports | MIDLAND, Texas | August 5, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to carry the momentum from a dominant series-opening victory into Wednesday night when they meet the Midland RockHounds for the second game of a six-game set at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Right-hander D.J. McCarty will start for Frisco, entering the matchup with an 0-1 record and a 10.80 ERA. Midland will counter with left-hander Jamie Arnold, who is 4-5 with a 4.08 ERA.
Frisco enters the game at 19-15 in the second half and 58-44 overall after overwhelming Midland 14-4 on Tuesday night.
The RoughRiders fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, but the deficit did little to slow an offense that has been among the most dangerous in Double-A. Arturo Disla cut into the lead with a two-run home run in the third, and after Midland answered with another run, Frisco took complete control.
The Riders scored 12 unanswered runs over the final six innings.
Max Wagner, Rafe Perich and Dylan Dreiling each delivered RBI singles in the fourth as Frisco moved in front 5-4. Malcolm Moore added a solo home run in the fifth before Wagner drove in two more with a double.
From there, the Riders continued to pile on.
Moore added another RBI in the sixth, Wagner scored on a wild pitch in the seventh, Keith Jones II drove in a run in the eighth, and Frisco added three more in the ninth to put the game away.
The Rise of the Frisco RoughRiders Offense
Wagner was at the center of the offensive outburst, tying a career high with four hits while finishing 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.
His recent surge has been one of the biggest stories in Frisco’s lineup.
Over his last 30 games, Wagner is batting .273 with nine home runs, 21 RBIs and a 1.021 OPS. His 13 home runs from the eighth and ninth spots in the batting order are the most in Minor League Baseball.
Dreiling continues to provide steady production as well.
The outfielder enters Wednesday batting .293 and ranks among the Texas League leaders in hits, total bases, runs and OPS. Over his last 23 games, Dreiling is hitting .355 with nine doubles, six home runs and 17 RBIs.
Yeison Morrobel has also continued to make an impact since joining Frisco from High-A Hub City. He has recorded a hit in 13 of his first 15 games with the RoughRiders and is batting .321 with six doubles and two home runs.
Frisco’s success against Midland has extended throughout the season series.
The RoughRiders now hold a 10-9 advantage over the RockHounds in 2026 and have outscored Midland 117-94 despite being out-homered 22-19.
Keith Jones II has been especially productive in the matchup, batting .405 with a .500 on-base percentage and 13 RBIs in 10 games against Midland.
The RoughRiders have also continued to rewrite the franchise record book offensively.
Frisco has hit 139 home runs through 102 games, the most in franchise history at this point in a season. The Riders have eight players with at least 10 home runs and have scored 616 runs, averaging 6.0 per game.
Late-game production remains a major strength, with Frisco leading Double-A with 214 runs scored in the seventh inning or later.
The pitching staff has been impressive in its own right, reaching 1,009 strikeouts this season, among the highest totals in the Texas League.
McCarty will now look to give Frisco another quality start and allow the offense to continue applying pressure.
With a postseason berth already secured after winning the Texas League South Division first half, the RoughRiders are now focused on sharpening their form for the stretch run.
After Tuesday’s 14-run statement, Wednesday offers another opportunity to prove the explosion was no one-night performance.
