STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 29, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders return to Riders Field on Wednesday night looking to extend their winning streak when they face the Corpus Christi Hooks at 7:05 p.m. in the second game of a six-game series.
Right-hander Ben Anderson is scheduled to start for Frisco against Corpus Christi right-hander Cole Hertzler. Anderson enters the matchup with an 0-4 record and a 5.54 ERA, while Hertzler is 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA for the Hooks, the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.
Frisco enters Wednesday with momentum after opening the series with a 5-3 victory powered by three home runs. Dylan Dreiling, Corey Seager and Sebastian Walcott each went deep as the RoughRiders improved to 16-12 in the second half and 55-41 overall.

Corpus Christi scored first against David Davalillo, but Dreiling answered with a solo home run in the second inning to tie the game. Seager then delivered one of the night’s biggest moments in the fifth, launching a solo shot over the InTouch Home Run Terrace in left field to give Frisco a 2-1 lead.
The home run came in Seager’s first game of his latest rehabilitation assignment. The Texas Rangers shortstop finished 1-for-2 with a walk while playing five innings. Seager is working his way back from a back injury that placed him on the injured list July 1.
The Hooks briefly regained the lead in the seventh inning, but Walcott responded with the decisive swing. The Rangers’ top prospect connected on a three-run home run against Joey Mancini, turning a 3-2 deficit into a 5-3 Frisco advantage.
Janser Lara protected the lead in the ninth for his third save of the season.
Walcott’s performance continued an impressive return from offseason internal brace surgery on his right elbow. Through his first nine games back with Frisco, he is batting .378 with five doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs, two stolen bases and nine runs scored.
The 20-year-old has recorded six multi-hit games during that stretch, giving Frisco another explosive presence near the top of its lineup.
Dreiling has also remained one of the Texas League’s hottest hitters. Over his last 17 games, the outfielder is batting .362 with seven doubles, four home runs and 11 RBIs. His .290 season average ranks fourth in the league, while he also sits among the leaders in hits, OPS, total bases and runs scored.
Max Wagner enters Wednesday as another major power threat. Wagner has nine home runs over his last 27 games while posting a .649 slugging percentage and a 1.029 OPS. He tied his career high with his 13th home run of the season July 23, reaching the mark in 58 fewer games than he did in 2023.
Frisco’s lineup has produced at a historic pace throughout the season. The RoughRiders have hit a franchise-record 130 home runs through 96 games, including a Texas League-leading 47 over their last 28 contests.
Eight Frisco players have already reached double figures in home runs, another franchise record. From 2023 through 2025, the club had only seven players combined reach 10 homers through the first 96 games of those seasons.
The RoughRiders also lead Double-A with 869 hits and pace the Texas League in batting average, doubles, slugging percentage and OPS. Their average of six runs per game is the highest in franchise history.
Frisco has been particularly dangerous late, scoring a Double-A-best 202 runs in the seventh inning or later.
Anderson will look to complement that offensive production while helping a Frisco pitching staff that ranks second in the Texas League with 956 strikeouts. The RoughRiders’ total is already the second-highest in franchise history through 96 games.
Already assured of a postseason appearance after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, Frisco will attempt to maintain its offensive rhythm, secure a second straight victory and strengthen its early advantage in the series.
