STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | August 13, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to turn Wednesday night’s dramatic comeback into sustained momentum when they host the San Antonio Missions in the third game of a six-game series Thursday at Riders Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT, with left-hander Dylan MacLean getting the start for Frisco against San Antonio right-hander Eric Yost. MacLean enters at 7-3 with a 4.32 ERA, while Yost is 5-2 with a 3.13 ERA.
The series is tied 1-1 after Frisco delivered one of its most memorable wins of the season Wednesday.
The RoughRiders trailed 3-0 through five innings before scoring seven unanswered runs, capped by Max Wagner’s walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. Wagner battled former Texas Rangers reliever and World Series champion Jose Leclerc through a nine-pitch at-bat before launching the game-ending blast.
Frisco RoughRiders’ Late-Inning Power
The grand slam was only the second walk-off slam in RoughRiders franchise history and the first since Abimelec Ortiz accomplished the feat against Corpus Christi on May 14, 2025.
Wagner has now homered in back-to-back games to begin the series and owns a career-high 15 home runs this season.
His recent stretch has been especially productive. Over his last 34 games, Wagner is batting .272 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and a 1.011 OPS. Since June 20, his 11 homers are tied for fourth-most in the Texas League.
Another important storyline is the return of Sebastian Walcott.
The Texas Rangers’ top prospect returned Wednesday after being placed on the seven-day injured list following a pickoff throw that struck him in the head on Aug. 2. Walcott is batting .321 through his first 14 games this season with six doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs and a .966 OPS.
His presence gives Frisco another dynamic bat as the club searches for more consistent early-game offense.
The RoughRiders have relied heavily on late production recently. Over their last seven games, Frisco has scored only six runs through the first six innings but has produced 17 runs in the seventh inning or later.
That trend continued Wednesday, when Frisco did not score until the sixth before rallying to win.
Opposing starting pitchers have been particularly effective during the stretch, posting a 0.71 ERA over 38 innings. Bullpens, however, have struggled to contain the Riders, allowing 19 earned runs over 25.1 innings.
Frisco has been the most productive late-inning offense in Double-A this season, scoring 225 runs in the seventh inning or later.
Beyond Wagner, Arturo Disla remains one of the Texas League’s hottest hitters. Since July 10, Disla is batting .333 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 26 RBIs. The July Texas Rangers Minor League Player of the Month ranks third in the league with a .293 average and fourth with an .893 OPS.
Dylan Dreiling has also remained a steady offensive presence, batting .352 over his last 25 games with 10 doubles, six home runs and 19 RBIs. His 17 home runs are the most by a RoughRider since 2024.
Overall, Frisco continues to rank among Double-A’s best offensive clubs. Through 109 games, the Riders are second in Double-A with 981 hits and second in the Texas League in both batting average (.265) and runs scored (638).
Thursday’s matchup also gives Frisco a chance to strengthen its advantage against San Antonio. The RoughRiders are now 11-9 against the Missions this season and enter the night at 21-20 in the second half and 60-48 overall.
With a postseason berth already secured after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, Frisco’s focus shifts toward sharpening its offense, building pitching consistency and carrying Wednesday’s energy deeper into the series.
