STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| September 11, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders return to action Friday night looking to even their six-game series against the Wichita Wind Surge at Equity Bank Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with right-hander Jonathan Brand (4-2, 5.43 ERA) set to make his first start of the season for Frisco. Wichita will counter with right-hander Riley Quick (0-2, 5.72 ERA).
The matchup comes one night after Frisco dropped a tightly contested 3-1 decision to the Wind Surge. Cole Stasio gave the RoughRiders five strong innings on his 25th birthday, allowing just two runs while setting a Minor League career high in innings pitched. Frisco’s lone run came on an RBI double from Yeison Morrobel in the sixth inning.
The loss dropped the RoughRiders to 32-34 in the second half and 71-63 overall, while Wichita improved to 29-37 and 53-79.
Frisco RoughRiders Poised for a Turnaround
Friday’s start will be a notable one for Brand. He becomes the 24th different starting pitcher used by Frisco this season, setting a new franchise record. The RoughRiders used only 15 starters in 2025.
That rotation turnover has placed a heavy burden on Frisco’s bullpen. RoughRiders relievers logged a Double-A-high 134.1 innings in August while posting a 4.96 ERA. The bullpen averaged 5.1 innings per game during the month, the highest single-month workload in recorded franchise history.
Offensively, Frisco continues to lean on one of the most productive lineups in Double-A baseball.
Dylan Dreiling remains at the center of that success. The Rangers’ No. 13 prospect enters Friday batting .310, second-best in the Texas League, while ranking among league leaders in OPS, RBIs, hits, total bases and runs.
Dreiling has hit 22 home runs this season, the most by a RoughRiders center fielder in franchise history. Over his last 47 games, he is batting .362 with 17 doubles, 11 homers and 37 RBIs. His recent 25-game hitting streak was the longest in the Texas League this season and the longest by a Frisco player since 2012.
Max Wagner has also supplied significant power. Wagner has 20 home runs, giving Frisco its first pair of 20-homer teammates since Mike Olt and Chris McGuiness accomplished the feat in 2012. Sixteen of Wagner’s homers have come while batting eighth or ninth, the most in Minor League Baseball from those lineup spots.
Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott provides another dangerous presence. Since returning after the All-Star break following right elbow surgery, Walcott has continued to produce extra-base power and remains one of the organization’s most closely watched young players.
Collectively, Frisco’s offense has put together a historic season. Through 134 games, the RoughRiders lead Double-A with 1,243 hits and a .272 batting average. They also rank second in runs with 802 and lead the Texas League in doubles and slugging percentage.
The club has already established franchise records in both runs scored and home runs while posting the best on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS in team history.
Frisco has already secured its postseason future after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title. The RoughRiders will face Amarillo in the Division Series.
Before postseason baseball begins, however, Friday offers another chance to sharpen the pitching staff and restore offensive momentum.
With Wichita holding the advantage through the first three games of the series, the RoughRiders will look to Brand to set the tone and give their potent lineup an opportunity to even the set.
