STWF Sports | MIDLAND, Texas | August 8, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to build on a dramatic comeback victory when they face the Midland RockHounds on Saturday night in the fifth game of their six-game series at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. Right-hander Cole Stasio will take the mound for Frisco, entering the matchup with a 1-0 record and a 4.91 ERA. Midland will counter with right-hander Zane Taylor, who is 0-0 with a 5.79 ERA.
Frisco enters the game at 20-17 in the second half and 59-46 overall after rallying for a 6-4 victory Friday night. The win evened both the current series and the season series with Midland at 11 games apiece.
Frisco RoughRiders Aim for Series Dominance
The RoughRiders were staring at a 4-1 deficit before their offense came alive in the eighth inning.
Dylan Dreiling started the comeback with a two-run double, cutting Midland’s lead to one. Yeison Morrobel followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game before Malcolm Moore delivered the go-ahead RBI single.
Frisco added insurance in the ninth when Arturo Disla drove in another run on a fielder’s choice, and Zach Bryant secured the victory by recording the final six outs for his third save of the season.
The late rally continued a season-long trend for Frisco.
The RoughRiders have scored 219 runs in the seventh inning or later, the highest total in Double-A. That ability to produce late has repeatedly kept Frisco in games even when the offense has been quiet early.
Disla remains one of the hottest hitters in the Texas League.
Since July 10, he is batting .386 with nine doubles, six home runs and 26 RBIs across 22 games. During that stretch, Disla leads the league in batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, hits, doubles, extra-base hits and total bases.
For the season, he ranks second in the Texas League with a .307 batting average and a .930 OPS.
Dreiling has been equally important to Frisco’s lineup. The outfielder is batting .292 and ranks among the league leaders in hits, total bases and OPS. Over his last 24 games, he has hit .347 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 19 RBIs.
His 17 home runs are the most by a RoughRider since Abimelec Ortiz in 2024.
Frisco’s power production remains one of the defining elements of its season. The RoughRiders have hit 139 home runs through 105 games, a franchise record at this point of the year. Eight players have reached double figures in homers, also a club record.
Max Wagner continues to be a major part of that power surge. He has nine home runs over his last 32 games and owns 13 homers from the eighth and ninth spots in the batting order, tied for the most in Minor League Baseball.
The RoughRiders also continue to rank among the best offensive clubs in Double-A. Frisco is second in the classification with 946 hits and ranks near the top of the Texas League in batting average, runs, doubles, slugging percentage and OPS.
The pitching staff has been productive as well, entering Saturday with 1,040 strikeouts, the second-most in franchise history through 105 games.
With the series tied and only two games remaining, Saturday’s matchup carries added significance.
Frisco has already secured a postseason berth after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, but the RoughRiders are still looking to sharpen their form heading toward September.
A win Saturday would give Frisco the series lead and put the club in position to claim the six-game set in Sunday’s finale.
