STWF Sports | MIDLAND, Texas | August 4, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders begin a six-game road series Tuesday night against the Midland RockHounds at Momentum Bank Ballpark, looking to build on a strong finish to their most recent homestand.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Right-hander Ben Anderson will take the mound for Frisco, carrying a 1-4 record and a 5.61 ERA. Midland will counter with right-hander Ben Hansen, who enters at 1-0 with a 7.50 ERA.
Frisco arrives in Midland after snapping a three-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the Corpus Christi Hooks on Sunday. The win secured a split in the six-game series and improved the RoughRiders to 18-15 in the second half and 57-44 overall.
Blake Townsend delivered five scoreless innings in the series finale, allowing just two hits before turning the game over to the bullpen. Offensively, Ian Moller drove in the first run of the game, while Rafe Perich later provided a two-run single that helped Frisco carry a one-run lead into the ninth. Jonathan Brand closed the door with a strikeout of Jason Schiavone to earn his third save.
Now, Frisco turns its attention to a Midland club it has battled evenly all season.
The RoughRiders and RockHounds are 9-9 against one another in 2026. Frisco has been out-homered 22-17 in the season series, but the Riders have still outscored Midland 103-90.
One player who has particularly enjoyed the matchup is Keith Jones II. In nine games against Midland, Jones is batting .382 with a .462 on-base percentage and .647 slugging percentage. He has also hit two home runs and driven in 12 runs.
Frisco’s offense remains one of the most productive units in Double-A.
Through 101 games, the RoughRiders have collected 906 hits, second-most in Double-A, while batting .265 as a team. Frisco also ranks second in the Texas League in runs scored with 602 and has averaged 6.0 runs per game.
Power has been a major part of that production.
The RoughRiders have hit 137 home runs this season, the most in franchise history through 101 games. Eight different players have reached double figures in homers, another franchise record.
Max Wagner has been one of the club’s most consistent power threats. Over his last 29 games, Wagner has hit nine home runs with 18 RBIs while posting a .602 slugging percentage.
Dylan Dreiling continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the Texas League. The outfielder is batting .291 and ranks among the league leaders in hits, total bases and OPS. Over his last 22 games, Dreiling has hit .348 with eight doubles, six home runs and 15 RBIs.
Yeison Morrobel has also remained productive since joining Frisco from High-A Hub City. He is batting .320 in his first 14 games with the RoughRiders, with six doubles and two home runs.
On the mound, Frisco’s pitching staff has recorded 1,003 strikeouts this season, the second-highest total in franchise history through this point of a campaign.
Late-game production has been another defining strength. The RoughRiders have scored 209 runs in the seventh inning or later, the most in Double-A.
Frisco has already secured a postseason berth after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, but the club continues to chase consistency heading into the stretch run.
Tuesday’s opener gives Anderson and the RoughRiders an opportunity to set the tone against a familiar opponent in what has been one of their most competitive season series.
