STWF Sports| SPRINGDALE, Arkansas| August 28, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to extend their winning streak to three games Friday night when they face the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in the fourth game of their six-game series at Arvest Ballpark.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT, with left-hander Bryan Magdaleno taking the ball for Frisco against Northwest Arkansas right-hander Drew Beam. Magdaleno enters the matchup with a 4-1 record and a 2.92 ERA, while Beam is 7-10 with a 7.04 ERA.
Frisco comes into Friday’s contest with momentum after posting back-to-back wins, including a dominant 7-0 shutout Thursday night. The RoughRiders improved to 27-27 in the second half and 66-56 overall, while taking a 2-1 lead in the series.
Frisco RoughRiders’ Strong Season Performance
Thursday’s victory was built around another strong pitching performance.
Starter Cole Stasio worked three scoreless innings and struck out five while allowing just one hit. Eric Loomis and Leandro Lopez followed with four more scoreless frames, and Josh Trentadue closed out the ninth to complete Frisco’s ninth shutout of the season.
That total ranks second in the Texas League behind Arkansas.
The RoughRiders offense provided separation in the seventh inning, scoring five times to turn a 1-0 game into a comfortable 6-0 advantage. Arturo Disla and Yeison Morrobel each delivered two-run singles, while Max Wagner added his 19th home run of the season in the ninth.
Morrobel remains one of Frisco’s hottest hitters.
Since joining the RoughRiders from High-A Hub City, Morrobel is batting .333 with 10 doubles, three home runs and 20 RBIs. He enters Friday riding a nine-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .474 with five multi-hit performances and four three-hit games.
Dylan Dreiling also continues to carry one of the league’s hottest bats. The Rangers’ No. 13 prospect owns an 18-game hitting streak, the longest in the Texas League this season.
During that run, Dreiling is batting .429 with six doubles, five home runs, 18 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He ranks second in the league with a .314 batting average and 131 hits, while sitting fourth in OPS at .912.
His 21 home runs are the most by a RoughRider since Blaine Crim hit 24 in 2022.
Frisco’s lineup remains one of the most productive in Double-A. Through 122 games, the RoughRiders lead Double-A with 1,126 hits and a .270 team batting average. They also rank second with 734 runs, averaging 6.0 per game.
The club has been particularly dangerous late. Frisco leads Double-A with 263 runs scored in the seventh inning or later and has produced 103 runs in the eighth.
Wagner continues to be a major part of that late-game production. Over his last 45 games, he has hit 15 home runs, tied for third-most in the Texas League since June 20.
Friday’s start from Magdaleno could be equally important. Frisco’s bullpen has logged a Double-A-high 119.1 innings in August, making efficient outings from the rotation especially valuable.
With a postseason berth already secured, the RoughRiders are focused on finding consistency before the regular season ends.
A third consecutive win Friday would not only strengthen their control of the series but also continue a promising turnaround after a difficult stretch earlier in the month.
