STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 19, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to claim another home series when they face the Tulsa Drillers, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, in Sunday evening’s finale at Riders Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Left-hander Blake Townsend will take the mound for Frisco against Tulsa left-hander Myles Caba. Townsend enters with a 3-4 record and a 5.26 ERA, while Caba is 2-1 with a 4.33 ERA.
The three-game set is tied at one victory apiece after Frisco answered Friday’s loss with a 4-3 win Saturday. The RoughRiders improved to 11-9 in the second half and 49-38 overall, while the Drillers fell to 12-8 and 58-31.
Frisco used a pair of fourth-inning home runs to secure Saturday’s victory.
Max Wagner opened the scoring with a third-inning double before Frainyer Chavez drove him home with another two-base hit. Dylan Dreiling then launched a leadoff homer in the fourth, and Yeison Morrobel followed with a two-run shot that pushed the advantage to 4-0.
Tulsa made a late charge behind two home runs from Zyhir Hope, but the RoughRiders’ bullpen protected the lead. Dalton Pence allowed one earned run and struck out five across four relief innings before Cole Stasio recorded his first Double-A save of the season.
Frisco also received two scoreless innings from Cody Bradford during his rehabilitation appearance. The left-hander struck out four in his first rehab start at Riders Field.
Sunday’s matchup gives Townsend an opportunity to continue a strong strikeout stretch for the Frisco pitching staff. The RoughRiders have collected 160 strikeouts over their last 14 games, tied for the third-highest total in Minor League Baseball during that span.
Aidan Curry has led that run after recording 23 strikeouts across his last two starts and 11.2 innings. His 12-strikeout performance against Corpus Christi matched a career high and represented the highest total by a Texas League starter this season.
The RoughRiders’ lineup has been equally productive.
Frisco leads Double-A with 805 hits and owns the best batting average in the Texas League at .269. The club also ranks first in the league in doubles, slugging percentage and OPS while averaging a franchise-record 6.2 runs per game.
Power has become an especially important part of the offense. The RoughRiders have hit 39 home runs over their last 20 games, the most in the Texas League and the third-highest total in the minors. Their 122 homers through 88 games already represent a franchise record.
Rafe Perich remains one of the lineup’s most dangerous hitters. The reigning Texas League Player of the Week has hit 10 home runs in his first 38 games with Frisco, with six either tying the game or giving the RoughRiders the lead.
Frisco is 9-0 when Perich homers. His 21 home runs this season are tied for the most in the Texas Rangers organization.
The RoughRiders also welcomed top Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott back to the lineup Friday following internal brace surgery on his right elbow. Walcott has reached base four times through his first two games, collecting two hits, two walks, one stolen base and one run.
Already assured of a postseason appearance after winning the Texas League South Division first-half title, Frisco will attempt to add another series victory while continuing its second-half push.
