STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 22, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders built a seven-run advantage over the opening three innings and survived a late San Antonio rally to secure a 7-5 victory over the Missions on Wednesday night at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.

Frisco improved to 13-10 in the second half and 52-39 overall while evening the six-game series at one victory apiece. San Antonio dropped to 11-12 in the second half and 42-50 for the season.
The RoughRiders wasted little time taking control against Missions left-hander Jamie Hitt. Frisco placed two runners aboard in the opening inning before Arturo Disla drove a three-run home run over the right-center-field fence, giving the visitors an immediate 3-0 advantage.
The blast continued Disla’s strong stretch at the plate and extended his hitting streak to eight games. His early swing provided the foundation for a productive opening sequence in which Frisco consistently pressured San Antonio’s pitching staff.
The RoughRiders added three more runs in the second inning. Keith Jones II delivered an RBI double to increase the lead before top Texas Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott followed with a two-run double, pushing the margin to 6-0.
Walcott’s extra-base hit represented another positive moment since his return from right elbow surgery. The 20-year-old has quickly reestablished himself as a central part of Frisco’s lineup after missing the opening months of the season.
Frisco completed its early scoring in the third. Malcolm Moore produced an RBI single, bringing home the seventh run and giving the RoughRiders a commanding 7-0 lead.
Dylan Dreiling also doubled during the inning, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. Dreiling has become one of the club’s most consistent offensive contributors during the current stretch, supplying quality at-bats and additional depth in a lineup that ranks among the most productive in Double-A.
Right-hander David Davalillo received ample support in his return to the Double-A level. Davalillo worked four innings, allowing one run while striking out six and issuing only one walk.
The 21-year-old attacked the strike zone and kept the Missions from answering Frisco’s early offensive production. His outing helped the RoughRiders establish control before San Antonio began cutting into the deficit against the bullpen.
The Missions scored during the middle innings and gradually reduced Frisco’s advantage. San Antonio produced runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh, eventually narrowing the score to 7-5.
Despite the comeback attempt, the RoughRiders’ bullpen protected the lead over the final two innings. Eric Loomis handled the ninth and kept San Antonio off the scoreboard, earning his third save of the season.
Frisco’s offense received contributions throughout the order. All nine RoughRiders reached base, while seven different players recorded at least one hit. That balanced production proved critical after the lineup went scoreless over the final six innings.
The game also featured two of the Texas League’s top strikeout staffs. Frisco and San Antonio combined to record 29 strikeouts during the nine-inning contest, creating a sharp contrast between the RoughRiders’ early offensive eruption and the pitching dominance that followed.
Hitt took the loss for San Antonio and fell to 1-1. Frisco’s early attack prevented the Missions starter from settling into the game, as the RoughRiders collected several damaging extra-base hits during the first two innings.
The series continues Thursday night with another 7:05 p.m. first pitch at Wolff Stadium. Frisco is scheduled to start left-hander Dylan MacLean, who enters with a 6-1 record and 4.69 ERA. San Antonio will counter with right-hander Matthew Watson, who is expected to make his first appearance at the Double-A level this season.
After falling short in Tuesday’s opener, the RoughRiders responded with aggressive early offense and enough late pitching to regain momentum in the series.
