STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 23, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders combined timely power with a commanding performance on the mound Thursday night, shutting out the San Antonio Missions 3-0 at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.
Dominant Performance by the Frisco RoughRiders
Frisco improved to 14-10 in the second half and 53-39 overall, taking a 2-1 lead in the six-game series. San Antonio fell to 11-13 in the second half and 42-51 on the season.
The RoughRiders needed only two swings to provide all the offense required.
Max Wagner opened the scoring in the second inning against Missions starter Matthew Watson. With a runner aboard, Wagner drove a two-run home run out of the ballpark, giving Frisco an early 2-0 advantage.
The home run was Wagner’s 13th of the season and continued a productive power stretch for a RoughRiders offense that has ranked among the Texas League’s most dangerous units. His swing gave Frisco immediate control and allowed the pitching staff to attack San Antonio’s lineup with a lead.
Trey Supak started for Frisco while making a rehabilitation appearance from Triple-A Round Rock. The right-hander delivered four scoreless innings, limiting the Missions’ opportunities and keeping the ball away from dangerous areas of the field.
Supak’s outing established the tone for a night in which San Antonio managed only three hits. All three were singles, and the Missions never produced the extra-base hit necessary to create sustained pressure.
Left-hander Dylan MacLean took over in the fifth inning and continued the shutout effort. MacLean worked four scoreless frames, matching Supak’s effectiveness and preventing San Antonio from gaining momentum.
MacLean earned the victory and improved to 7-1. His work gave Frisco eight consecutive scoreless innings from its first two pitchers before the game was turned over to the bullpen.
The RoughRiders added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Dylan Dreiling launched a solo home run. The sharply hit drive extended Frisco’s lead to 3-0 and added another milestone to Dreiling’s impressive recent stretch.
Dreiling extended his hitting streak to 11 games, matching both his personal best and the longest hitting streak by a RoughRiders player this season. The home run was his 14th, moving him past Wagner for the team lead after Wagner had briefly tied him earlier in the contest.
Dreiling’s continued production has added another reliable presence to an already deep Frisco lineup. His ability to deliver extra-base damage while maintaining consistent contact has helped the RoughRiders create scoring opportunities throughout the order.
Cole Stasio entered for the ninth inning with the shutout still intact. The right-hander retired San Antonio without allowing the Missions to mount a comeback, securing his second save since joining the RoughRiders.
The combined effort from Supak, MacLean and Stasio gave Frisco one of its cleanest pitching performances of the season. The three pitchers allowed only three singles and kept San Antonio off the scoreboard from beginning to end.
Frisco’s staff has now held the Missions without an extra-base hit in consecutive games. That accomplishment has been central to the RoughRiders’ ability to recover from a loss in the series opener and win the next two contests.
San Antonio starter Watson took the loss and fell to 0-1. Aside from the two home runs, he and the Missions’ pitching staff largely contained Frisco, but Wagner’s two-run blast and Dreiling’s insurance shot proved decisive.
The series continues Friday night at Wolff Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Left-hander Cody Bradford is expected to start for Frisco, carrying a 0-0 record and 3.00 ERA into the matchup. San Antonio will counter with right-hander Ian Koenig, who is 3-7 with a 4.46 ERA.
With two straight victories, the RoughRiders will look to extend their series lead behind another strong pitching performance.
