STWF Sports| SPRINGDALE, Arkansas| August 27, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders turned in another complete performance Thursday night, shutting out the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 7-0 at Arvest Ballpark for their second consecutive victory.

Frisco improved to 27-27 in the second half and 66-56 overall, while Northwest Arkansas fell to 22-32 and 51-70. The win also gave the RoughRiders a 2-1 edge in the six-game series.

For the second straight night, Frisco grabbed an early lead and let its pitching staff take control.

The RoughRiders opened the scoring in the first inning when Arturo Disla lifted a sacrifice fly against Naturals starter Hunter Owen, giving Frisco a 1-0 advantage.

Highlights of the Frisco RoughRiders’ Performance

That one run was all the pitching staff needed for much of the night.

Starter Cole Stasio delivered three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five. Stasio set the tone with an efficient outing and kept Northwest Arkansas from building any early momentum.

The bullpen continued the dominance from there.

Eric Loomis and Leandro Lopez followed Stasio and combined for four scoreless frames. Lopez earned the win, improving to 2-2 on the season, as Frisco’s staff kept the Naturals off the scoreboard through the middle innings.

With the pitching staff in control, the RoughRiders finally created separation in the seventh.

Frisco erupted for five runs in the frame to turn a 1-0 game into a commanding 6-0 advantage. Disla delivered again, driving a two-run single back up the middle, while Yeison Morrobel added a two-run single of his own.

The inning gave the RoughRiders breathing room and rewarded a pitching staff that had spent the first six innings protecting a slim lead.

Disla finished the night with two hits and three RBIs, accounting for nearly half of Frisco’s scoring.

Morrobel also continued one of the hottest stretches on the roster, collecting three hits and extending his hitting streak to nine games.

Frisco added one final run in the ninth when Max Wagner launched his 19th home run of the season.

Wagner’s blast pushed the lead to 7-0 and continued an impressive power surge during the second half. His 19 homers are another career milestone in a season that has already included a walk-off grand slam and several key late-inning swings.

Josh Trentadue handled the final outs in the ninth, completing Frisco’s first shutout since July 24 at San Antonio.

The back-to-back wins have been particularly encouraging for a RoughRiders pitching staff that had struggled with consistency earlier in August. After allowing 12 runs in the series opener Tuesday, Frisco has surrendered only two runs over the last two games.

That turnaround has allowed the offense to play from ahead rather than constantly trying to chase large deficits.

Frisco will now look to extend its winning streak to three games on Friday night.

Northwest Arkansas is scheduled to start right-hander Drew Beam, who enters with a 7-10 record and 7.04 ERA. Frisco’s starter had not yet been announced.

First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CT at Arvest Ballpark.

With the series lead now in hand, the RoughRiders have an opportunity to keep building momentum as the final weeks of the regular season approach.
