STWF Sports| WICHITA, Kansas| September 13, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders closed the 2026 regular season on a winning note Sunday afternoon, using three home runs and a four-hit performance from Marcus Lee Sang to defeat the Wichita Wind Surge 10-8 at Equity Bank Park.
The Journey of the Frisco RoughRiders This Season
Frisco finished the regular season 73-64 overall and 34-35 in the second half, matching its 73-win total from 2025. Wichita ended its campaign at 56-80 overall and 31-38 in the second half.
The Wind Surge struck first, scoring in each of the opening two innings against Frisco starter Thomas Ireland to take a 2-0 lead.
The RoughRiders responded emphatically in the third.
Lee Sang opened the inning by launching a solo home run off Wichita starter Preston Johnson, immediately cutting the deficit in half. Later in the frame, Gleider Figuereo delivered the biggest swing of the inning with a three-run homer, pushing Frisco ahead 4-2.
The offense was not finished.
Batting for the second time in the inning, Lee Sang lined a two-run single into left field, completing a six-run outburst that turned an early deficit into a 6-2 advantage.
Wichita continued to battle and trimmed the margin, but Frisco created separation again in the seventh inning.
Arturo Disla continued his strong finish to the regular season by driving a line-drive home run onto the berm in left field. The blast extended Frisco’s lead to 7-4 and gave Disla a home run in three consecutive games.
Lee Sang then delivered again, driving a two-run double into left-center field to stretch the advantage to 9-4.
The four-hit performance marked Lee Sang’s third four-hit game of the season, while his five RBIs matched a season high. He completed the regular season with a .306 batting average and provided one of his biggest offensive performances in the finale.
Disla also closed the season with momentum, finishing with 19 home runs after his late-season power surge.
Wichita refused to go quietly, scoring in each of the final five innings and keeping pressure on Frisco’s pitching staff. The Wind Surge eventually brought the potential tying run to the plate in the ninth inning, setting up one of the game’s most dramatic moments.
With Wichita threatening, Paxton Kling made a game-saving defensive play in the outfield, robbing what could have been a game-tying home run and helping preserve Frisco’s victory.
The play provided a fitting conclusion to a regular season in which the RoughRiders combined one of the Texas League’s most productive offenses with a roster that has continued to develop several notable prospects.
Frisco also earned a split of the six-game series against Wichita, an important response after falling 5-1 on Saturday night.
The RoughRiders will now shift their attention entirely to postseason baseball.
Frisco secured its playoff spot by winning the Texas League South Division first-half championship and will meet the Amarillo Sod Poodles in a best-of-three South Division Series.
Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6:35 p.m. CT at HODGETOWN in Amarillo.
