STWF Sports| SPRINGDALE, Arkansas| August 26, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders opened their six-game road series against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals with a difficult night Tuesday, falling 12-4 at Arvest Ballpark.
Frisco dropped to 25-27 in the second half and 64-56 overall, while Northwest Arkansas improved to 22-30 and 51-68.
Performance Highlights of the Frisco RoughRiders
The Naturals struck first against RoughRiders starter Ben Anderson, pushing across two runs in the opening inning. Frisco eventually answered in the fourth, using an RBI single from Ian Moller to help pull even at 2-2.
That rally briefly gave the RoughRiders some momentum, but Northwest Arkansas quickly took control of the game.
Right-hander Augusto Mendieta entered for the Naturals and helped slow Frisco’s offense, while Northwest Arkansas began to separate itself with a decisive stretch between the fourth and sixth innings.
The Naturals scored nine runs over those three frames, capitalizing against Anderson and the Frisco bullpen. The biggest blow came from Daniel Vazquez, who launched a three-run home run as Northwest Arkansas turned a close contest into a one-sided affair.
Anderson took the loss and fell to 2-6 on the season.
Even with the widening deficit, Frisco continued to produce baserunners and avoided going quietly.
The RoughRiders pushed across one run in the seventh inning and another in the eighth, but the early and middle-inning damage proved too much to overcome.
One of the most encouraging developments for Frisco came from Dylan Dreiling, who continued his remarkable stretch at the plate.
Dreiling recorded a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to 17 games, the longest streak in the Texas League this season. His consistency has been one of the biggest offensive bright spots for the RoughRiders during the second half and continued despite the loss.
Yeison Morrobel also remained productive, finishing with three hits and extending his own hitting streak to seven games.
Frisco received additional traffic on the bases from Moller and Corey Joyce, who each reached three times with one single and two walks.
Those individual performances gave the RoughRiders some positives to carry forward, but the team’s inability to contain Northwest Arkansas’ middle-inning surge decided the game.
The loss also highlighted a recurring challenge for Frisco as the club works through the final stretch of the regular season. The RoughRiders have consistently shown the ability to generate offense, but pitching depth and bullpen workload have become increasingly important as the schedule tightens.
Tuesday’s game was another example of how quickly a competitive matchup can swing when the opponent strings together quality at-bats.
Despite the result, Frisco remains securely positioned for postseason play after clinching the Texas League South Division first-half title earlier this summer.
The RoughRiders will now shift their focus to Wednesday night and game two of the series.
Northwest Arkansas is scheduled to start right-hander Felix Arronde, who enters with a 5-5 record and 5.63 ERA. Frisco had not yet announced its starter.
First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CT at Arvest Ballpark.
For the RoughRiders, the priority will be simple: flush Tuesday’s result, limit the big inning and give their offense a chance to dictate the game instead of chasing it.
