STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | August 4, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders turned an early deficit into one of their most complete offensive performances of the season Tuesday night, rolling past the Midland RockHounds 14-4 at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
Exciting Moments from the Frisco RoughRiders’ Game
Frisco improved to 19-15 in the second half and 58-44 overall with the victory, while Midland dropped to 15-19 and 47-55.
The night did not start smoothly for the RoughRiders.
Midland jumped on Frisco starter Ben Anderson for three runs in the first inning, forcing the Riders to play from behind almost immediately. Anderson settled in enough to remain in the game, and the Frisco offense wasted little time beginning its response.
Arturo Disla provided the first major spark in the third inning, launching a two-run home run that trimmed the deficit to 3-2.
The RockHounds answered with another run in the bottom of the frame, but that would be the last time Midland scored.
From there, Frisco completely took control.
The RoughRiders scored 12 unanswered runs over the final six innings, beginning with a three-run fourth. Max Wagner, Rafe Perich and Dylan Dreiling each delivered RBI singles against reliever Jay Dill, pushing Frisco in front 5-4.
The lead only grew from there.
Malcolm Moore added a solo home run in the fifth before Wagner drove in two more with a double, stretching the advantage to 8-4. Moore struck again in the sixth with an RBI single, continuing a relentless stretch in which Frisco consistently capitalized with runners on base.
A wild pitch in the seventh brought Wagner home, while Keith Jones II added an RBI single in the eighth.
By the ninth inning, the game had turned into a full-scale rout.
Perich, Dreiling and Disla each drove in runs in the final frame, extending the lead to 14-4 and putting an exclamation point on a dominant offensive night.
One of the most striking elements of the performance was Frisco’s ability to produce with two outs.
The RoughRiders scored their first 11 runs after two outs were recorded, repeatedly extending innings and punishing Midland for failing to finish frames. Frisco finished 9-for-21 with runners in scoring position, a major reason the club was able to turn a one-run deficit into a 10-run victory.
Wagner led the offensive charge with one of the best games of his season.
He tied a career high with four hits, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles. His production came in multiple key situations and helped keep Frisco’s offense moving once the game began to swing.
The depth of the lineup was equally impressive.
Every RoughRiders hitter recorded at least one hit, while six players finished with multi-hit performances. That balance made it difficult for Midland to find any relief once Frisco seized momentum in the middle innings.
Anderson earned the victory to improve to 2-4, benefiting from the offensive surge after allowing the early damage.
The result continues a strong stretch for a Frisco lineup that has been among the most productive in the Texas League throughout the season. The Riders have shown an ability to score in bunches, and Tuesday’s 14-run performance was another example of how quickly the offense can overwhelm an opponent.
Frisco will look to carry that momentum into the second game of the series Wednesday night.
Right-hander D.J. McCarty is scheduled to start for the RoughRiders, entering at 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA. Midland will counter with left-hander Jamie Arnold, who is 4-5 with a 4.08 ERA.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
