STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| September 10, 2026 — Cole Stasio delivered the longest outing of his professional career on his 25th birthday, but the Frisco RoughRiders were unable to provide enough offensive support in a 3-1 loss to the Wichita Wind Surge on Thursday night at Equity Bank Park.

Frisco RoughRiders’ Journey This Season

Frisco dropped to 32-34 in the second half and 71-63 overall, while Wichita improved to 29-37 and 53-79. The defeat gave the Wind Surge a 2-1 edge through the first three games of the six-game series.

Stasio turned in one of his strongest appearances of the season despite taking the loss. The right-hander worked a career-high five innings, two full frames longer than his previous Minor League best.

Wichita managed to take the lead in the opening inning without recording a hit. A sacrifice fly from Brandon Winokur brought home the first run against Stasio, putting the Wind Surge ahead 1-0.

From there, Stasio settled in and worked efficiently. He navigated the next four innings while allowing only one additional run, which came in the third inning when Quinn McDaniel connected on a solo home run to extend Wichita’s advantage to 2-0.

The outing was an encouraging one for Stasio, who gave Frisco valuable length while keeping the game within reach throughout his start.

Offensively, the RoughRiders struggled to solve Wichita starter Ty Langenberg. The right-hander kept Frisco scoreless through the first five innings and limited opportunities for a lineup that has been among the most productive in Double-A baseball this season.

Frisco finally broke through in the sixth.

Yeison Morrobel delivered an RBI double against Langenberg, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and giving the RoughRiders a chance to shift momentum in the middle innings. Morrobel continued his recent surge at the plate with the hit, giving him 10 hits over his last six games.

The Wind Surge answered quickly.

Wichita pushed another run across in the bottom half of the sixth inning, restoring its two-run cushion at 3-1. That insurance run proved important as the RoughRiders were unable to generate another scoring threat down the stretch.

Langenberg earned the victory and improved to 2-6, while Stasio fell to 1-2 despite his strong performance. Wichita reliever Kyle Bischoff handled the closing duties and recorded his sixth save of the season by protecting the two-run lead.

The contest moved at an unusually quick pace, finishing in just two hours and 10 minutes. It marked Frisco’s shortest nine-inning game of the 2026 season.

Despite the loss, the RoughRiders received another positive sign from Morrobel and a promising extended outing from Stasio as the club continues preparing for postseason baseball.

Frisco has already secured a place in the Texas League playoffs after capturing the South Division first-half championship. With the regular season nearing its conclusion, the remaining games provide an opportunity to build rhythm before the Division Series.

The RoughRiders will attempt to even the series in the fourth game Friday night at Equity Bank Park. Right-hander Riley Quick (0-2, 5.72 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound for Frisco.
