STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas | August 14, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders erased a six-run deficit with one of their biggest offensive explosions of the season, using three eighth-inning home runs and a season-high 22 hits to defeat the San Antonio Missions 14-12 on Friday night at Riders Field.

The comeback evened the six-game series at two games apiece and improved Frisco to 22-21 in the second half and 61-50 overall.

The Resilience of the Frisco RoughRiders

San Antonio jumped in front early behind solo home runs from Alex McCoy and Albert Fabian in the first two innings, but Frisco answered in the third.

Arturo Disla launched a two-run home run over the right-field wall, helping the RoughRiders take a 3-2 advantage and briefly seize momentum.

Frisco extended the lead to 4-2 before the Missions responded with a powerful middle-inning surge.

San Antonio scored eight runs across the fifth and sixth innings, with Braedon Karpathios doing much of the damage. Karpathios hit a two-run homer in the fifth before returning in the sixth and crushing a grand slam.

By the time the dust settled, the Missions had flipped the game and built a 10-4 lead.

The RoughRiders refused to fold.

In the bottom of the sixth, Frisco struck for four runs behind RBI hits from Yeison Morrobel and Marcus Lee Sang, trimming the deficit to 10-8 and setting the stage for another dramatic late-inning push.

McCoy later added his second homer of the night for San Antonio, helping the Missions push their advantage back to four runs entering the bottom of the eighth.

Then Frisco’s offense erupted.

Morrobel opened the inning with his fourth hit of the game before Keith Jones II singled back through the middle. Lee Sang followed by blasting a three-run home run to left field, cutting the Missions’ lead to one.

It was also Lee Sang’s fourth hit of the night.

Three batters later, Max Wagner delivered another huge moment.

Wagner drove a pitch from Garrett Hawkins deep enough to clear the fence, giving Frisco a 13-12 lead and sending Riders Field into a frenzy.

The celebration had barely settled before Dylan Dreiling followed with a home run of his own, going back-to-back with Wagner to give Frisco an important insurance run and a 14-12 advantage.

San Antonio threatened in the ninth, putting two runners aboard, but Thomas Ireland escaped the jam by inducing a groundout to finish the comeback.

Ireland earned his first victory of the season, while Hawkins fell to 0-1.

The final numbers reflected the chaos of the night.

Frisco’s 22 hits set a season high, matching the most by any Texas League team this season. The teams combined for 10 home runs in a game dominated by power and late offensive swings.

Wagner and Dreiling have now combined for five home runs through the first four games of the series and 35 for the season.

Frisco’s eighth-inning production has also become a defining feature of the club. The RoughRiders have scored 92 runs in the eighth inning this season, the most in the Texas League and second-most in Double-A. Eleven of those runs have come this week alone.

With the series tied 2-2, Frisco will turn to Aidan Curry on Saturday night. Curry enters at 3-2 with a 5.08 ERA and is expected to face San Antonio right-hander Matthew Watson, who is 0-2 with a 7.98 ERA.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT at Riders Field.
