STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | July 19, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders saved their best offensive push for the late innings Sunday night, scoring four runs in the eighth to defeat the Tulsa Drillers 6-4 at Riders Field.

The comeback victory gave Frisco the three-game series and secured the season series against Tulsa. The RoughRiders improved to 12-9 in the second half and 51-38 overall, while the Drillers fell to 12-9 and 58-32.

Sebastian Walcott provided the first spark for Frisco in only his third game since returning from offseason internal brace surgery. The highly regarded infielder drove a solo home run in the first inning against Tulsa starter Myles Caba, giving the RoughRiders an early 1-0 advantage.

The blast was Walcott’s first homer with Frisco this season after he hit 13 during the 2025 campaign. It also continued a promising return to action, as he recorded his second consecutive multi-hit game.

Tulsa answered immediately in the second inning against Frisco starter Blake Townsend.

The Drillers scored three times to take a 3-1 lead, with Hayden Gilliland contributing a home run during the rally. Tulsa eventually pushed its advantage to 4-2, leaving Frisco in comeback mode heading into the final two innings.

That position has become increasingly familiar—and increasingly comfortable—for the RoughRiders.

Frisco entered Sunday as one of the most productive late-game offenses in Minor League Baseball, and the lineup again demonstrated its ability to create pressure when the game reached its most important stage.

Frisco RoughRiders: A Late Game Powerhouse

The RoughRiders opened the bottom of the eighth with consecutive hits from Walcott and Dylan Dreiling against Christian Ruebeck. Frisco then loaded the bases with nobody out, placing the tying and go-ahead runs in position before Tulsa could record an out.

Arturo Disla delivered the first major blow, driving a two-run single into right field to erase the deficit and tie the game at four. Rather than settling for the equalizer, the RoughRiders continued attacking.

Keith Jones II followed with a two-run single, completing the four-run rally and pushing Frisco ahead 6-4. The inning transformed a two-run deficit into a two-run lead while providing another example of the club’s late-game resilience.

Frisco has now scored 20 eighth-inning runs over its last nine games, the highest total by any team in Minor League Baseball during that stretch.

The bullpen made sure the rally stood.

Eric Loomis handled the ninth inning and struck out two batters while earning his second save of the season. His work closed out the victory and prevented Tulsa from producing a final response.

The result completed a successful weekend for Frisco after the RoughRiders dropped the series opener Friday. They answered with a 4-3 victory Saturday behind home runs from Dylan Dreiling and Yeison Morrobel before mounting Sunday’s dramatic comeback.

Walcott’s performance was another encouraging development for a lineup already among the most productive in Double-A. His first-inning homer and second straight multi-hit effort added another dangerous bat to a Frisco offense that has consistently produced power, extra-base hits and late-inning scoring.

The series victory also gave the RoughRiders the nine-game season set against the Drillers, one of the Texas League’s strongest clubs.

Frisco will have Monday off before returning to action Tuesday night. The RoughRiders begin a six-game road series against the San Antonio Missions at Nelson Wolff Stadium.

First pitch for the series opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
