ARLINGTON, Texas (July 2, 2025) — Jacob deGrom continued his dominant stretch on the mound and Adolis García delivered at the plate as the Texas Rangers rolled past the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 on Tuesday night at Globe Life Field.
DeGrom (9-2) extended his league-best streak with his 14th straight start of at least five innings while allowing two or fewer runs. The right-hander struck out six and allowed just five hits over six innings, with the only blemish coming on a two-run homer by Gary Sánchez in the fourth.
The Rangers (43-38) had gone to extra innings in four straight games, losing three, but wasted no time establishing control in this one. García’s two-run single in the third opened the scoring and he crossed home moments later on Jonah Heim’s RBI single to make it 3-0.
García struck again in the fifth with another two-run single, stretching the Rangers’ lead to 7-2 after rookie Alejandro Osuna crushed his first career MLB home run — a two-run shot in the fourth.
The bullpen sealed the victory, with Jacob Latz working the final three innings, striking out three and earning his first career save.
Key Moment
With two outs in the fourth, Sánchez popped up foul, but first baseman Josh Smith couldn’t track it in the dugout. One pitch later, Sánchez made Texas pay, sending a two-run shot just over the wall — Baltimore’s only runs of the night.
Key Stat
Justin Foscue ended the longest hitless streak in Rangers history (0-for-44) with a two-run pinch-hit double in the eighth inning, capping off the 10-run night for Texas.
Up Next
The Rangers close out the series Wednesday night with Nathan Eovaldi (4-3, 1.87 ERA) set to make just his second start since returning from the injured list. The Orioles counter with Tomoyuki Sugano (6-4, 4.06 ERA).
