ARLINGTON, Texas (July 1, 2025) — Gunnar Henderson came through in the clutch Monday night, driving in four runs across two extra innings to lift the Baltimore Orioles past the Texas Rangers, 10-6, in an 11-inning thriller at Globe Life Field.
In a game filled with dramatic swings and timely hits, Henderson first put Baltimore ahead in the 10th with a towering two-run homer to right. Moments later, Colton Cowser added insurance with a solo shot of his own, giving the Orioles a seemingly commanding 6-3 lead.
But Adolis García wasn’t about to let the Rangers go quietly. The All-Star slugger crushed a game-tying three-run homer off the facade of the second deck in the bottom half of the inning, igniting the Arlington crowd and sending the contest to the 11th tied at six.
Baltimore responded with another offensive burst in the 11th. Luis Vazquez lined a go-ahead RBI single off Hoby Milner (1-2), scoring Ryan O’Hearn. Ramon Laureano followed with his third double of the night to bring home Vazquez, before Henderson capped off his night with a two-run double off the right-field wall.
Laureano finished the game 4-for-6 with three runs scored, extending his streak to six consecutive games with at least one hit and one run scored.
The victory improves Baltimore to 20-10 against Texas since 2021 and keeps them competitive in the American League race. Meanwhile, the Rangers tied a franchise record by playing in their fourth consecutive extra-inning game, matching a mark last set in 2002.
Keegan Akin (3-0) earned the win despite blowing a save opportunity in the 10th.
Key Moment
In the seventh, Michael Helman pulled off a wild sequence to tie the game at 3-3. After being hit in the helmet while sliding into second, the ball ricocheted into center field. Helman never stopped running and scored when Gary Sánchez, who had moved from designated hitter to catcher due to an injury, couldn’t handle the relay at the plate.
Injury Update
Orioles catcher Chadwick Tromp exited early with an injury, prompting Trevor Rogers to enter in the fourth inning and Sánchez to assume catching duties.
Baltimore will look to carry the momentum into Tuesday night’s matchup, while the Rangers aim to regroup and end their extra-inning marathon with a win.
