STWF Sports | WASHINGTON, D.C. | April 4, 2026 — FC Dallas delivered one of its most complete performances of the 2026 MLS season Saturday night, cruising to a commanding 4-0 victory over D.C. United at Audi Field. The result marked Dallas’ first road win of the campaign and improved the club to 3-1-2 (11 points), signaling growing momentum under head coach Eric Quill.
The four-goal margin stands as the second-largest road victory in club history, underscoring a night where Dallas excelled in every phase—attack, defense, and game management.
From the opening whistle, FC Dallas set the tone with aggressive attacking play and disciplined structure defensively. That approach paid off early when forward Logan Farrington opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Capitalizing on a well-timed ball from captain Ramiro Benetti, Farrington settled himself in space before calmly slotting home his fourth goal of the season—his first in consecutive MLS matches and Dallas’ first road goal of 2026.
Dallas continued to press, and its persistence was rewarded just before halftime. Midfielder Patrickson Delgado delivered a moment of quality on a free kick, bending his effort into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. The strike was historic in its own right, ending a 44-match drought without a direct free-kick goal for the club dating back to 2024.
Holding a 2-0 advantage at the break, Dallas showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Instead, the visitors doubled down on their attacking intent—a mindset Quill emphasized postmatch.
“We wanted to stay front-footed and not just protect the lead,” Quill said. “I thought the group responded with maturity and hunger.”
That mentality was evident in the 78th minute when defender Osaze Urhoghide added a third goal. Rising above the defense on a set piece, Urhoghide powered home a header off a pinpoint assist from Joaquín Valiente, who continues to influence matches in the attacking third. Urhoghide also delivered a strong defensive performance, completing 87 percent of his passes in a composed outing.
Moments later, Dallas’ star forward Petar Musa put the finishing touches on the rout. Musa’s 7th goal of the season—tied for the MLS lead—extended his scoring streak to three consecutive matches and brought his tally to five goals in his last three appearances. The Croatian striker’s red-hot form continues to anchor one of the league’s most dangerous attacking units.
The match also featured the debut of forward Santiago Moreno, who entered in the 84th minute and made an immediate impact. In limited minutes, Moreno registered three shots, generated 0.42 expected goals and completed every pass he attempted, offering a glimpse of his potential following his recent loan move.
Equally important for Dallas was the defensive effort, led by goalkeeper Michael Collodi. After conceding multiple goals in recent matches, Dallas emphasized defensive discipline, and the clean sheet reflected that renewed focus.
“Keeping that clean sheet was huge for us,” Collodi said. “Even at 3-0, that was a priority. It shows our growth as a team.”
The victory highlighted the squad’s depth and cohesion, particularly with contributions from both starters and substitutes. Quill praised the collective mentality, noting the team’s unselfishness and internal competition as key drivers behind their performance.
With momentum building, FC Dallas now turns its attention back home, where it will host St. Louis CITY SC at Toyota Stadium. As the club continues to climb the Western Conference standings, Saturday’s dominant display may serve as a defining moment early in the season—a statement that Dallas is not only improving, but emerging as a serious contender.
