STWF Sports| ST. LOUIS, Mo.| August 30, 2026 — FC Dallas closed its marathon road stretch in dramatic fashion Sunday night, rallying from a two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 draw against St. Louis CITY SC at Energizer Park.
The Resilience of FC Dallas During Challenging Matches
Logan Farrington delivered the decisive moment deep into second-half stoppage time, scoring in the seventh minute of added time to rescue a point for Dallas. The result moved FC Dallas to 9-6-7 with 34 points, matching St. Louis’ record and point total.
Dallas did not produce its sharpest performance, but its ability to respond under pressure became the story of the night.
St. Louis created early problems before FC Dallas defender Shaq Moore answered in the 18th minute with his first goal of the season. Moore found space in a one-on-one situation, stayed with the play after his initial move broke down and converted the opportunity to level the match.
The goal made Moore the 13th different FC Dallas player to score this season.
St. Louis regained the advantage before halftime and later stretched the margin to 3-1, putting Dallas in danger of ending its lengthy road trip with a loss.
Instead, the visitors mounted a late comeback.
Sebastien Ibeagha pulled Dallas within one in the 81st minute, heading home from a corner kick for his first goal of the season. Joaquín Valiente provided the service, recording his team-leading ninth assist.
The goal also marked the first time this season Dallas had two defenders score in the same match.
With time nearly gone, FC Dallas continued to push.
Petar Musa helped create the final breakthrough, finding Farrington inside the attacking area. Farrington met the pass first time and beat the goalkeeper to make it 3-3, scoring his seventh goal of the season and first since May 23 against Colorado.
The assist was Musa’s third of the campaign.
Head coach Eric Quill praised his team’s mentality after watching Dallas overcome a difficult night.
“We weren’t at our best tonight,” Quill said. “What is clear every day of the week with my group is that we have resilience, we have belief in each other, and we have a mentality that we never lay down.”
That resilience has been tested repeatedly during one of the most demanding stretches of the club’s season.
Sunday’s match concluded a 12-game road trip across all competitions in which Dallas finished 6-3-3 while traveling more than 15,000 miles across three countries. In MLS play, FC Dallas is now 6-4-3 away from home. Its six road victories are tied with San Jose for the second-most in the league.
Moore, one of the club’s most dependable players throughout the stretch, said earning the point was another example of Dallas’ ability to grind through adversity.
“It wasn’t our best night,” Moore said. “Even when the score wasn’t in our favor, we dug deep and were able to get a point at the end.”
The draw also sets the stage for a much-anticipated return to Toyota Stadium.
Dallas will host Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 5 in its first home match in three months. The game will also mark the opening of the stadium’s renovated East Side as part of the venue’s more than $200 million transformation.
For Farrington, the return home could not come soon enough.
“We’re ecstatic to go back home,” he said. “We’ve been on the road for what feels like all year.”
After surviving one final road test, FC Dallas returns to North Texas with momentum, belief and another point secured through pure persistence.
