MLS Recap: FC Dallas’ Six-Game Unbeaten Streak Ends in 3-2 Road Loss to Charlotte FC

STWF Sports| CHARLOTTE, N.C.| October 10, 2026  — FC Dallas saw its six-game unbeaten run come to an end Saturday night, falling 3-2 to Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium in the first regular-season meeting between the two clubs.

The loss dropped Dallas to 13-7-8 with 47 points, while Charlotte improved to 13-8-7 with 46 points.

Despite the defeat, the night featured a pair of major individual milestones for FC Dallas as Petar Musa and Logan Farrington continued to add to productive seasons.

Musa Makes Club History

Musa scored his 19th goal of the season, setting a new FC Dallas single-season scoring record.

The Croatian forward has been one of the most consistent attacking threats in Major League Soccer this season and now sits second in the 2026 Golden Boot race behind Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi.

Since joining Dallas in February 2024, Musa has scored 53 goals in 84 appearances, tying Jesús Ferreira for second place on the club’s all-time scoring list.

His latest goal added another chapter to a season that has already established him as one of the most productive scorers in FC Dallas history.

Farrington Reaches Double Figures

Farrington also reached an important milestone, scoring his 10th goal of the season in the 22nd minute.

The forward finished a low cross from wingback Herman Johansson, giving Dallas another attacking spark on the road.

With Farrington reaching double digits, FC Dallas now has two players with at least 10 goals in the same season for the first time since 2022.

The accomplishment also carries significance for Farrington’s development.

Since being selected by Dallas in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, he has scored 19 goals in 88 appearances. He is also the first FC Dallas SuperDraft selection to score at least 10 goals in a season since Ryan Hollingshead accomplished the feat in 2019.

First Regular-Season Meeting

Saturday also marked the first time FC Dallas and Charlotte FC had met in MLS regular-season play.

Their only previous matchup came during the 2023 Leagues Cup, when the teams played to a 2-2 draw.

This time, Charlotte found enough offense to hand Dallas its first loss since its unbeaten streak began.

The result ended a six-match run in which FC Dallas had built momentum in the Western Conference standings and strengthened its postseason positioning.

While the two goals from Musa and Farrington kept Dallas competitive, Charlotte ultimately did enough to protect its home field and secure all three points.

Delgado Returns to Starting XI

Another notable development for FC Dallas came in midfield, where Patrickson Delgado returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Aug. 1.

His return gives Dallas another option in the middle of the field as the club moves deeper into the final stretch of the regular season.

For FC Dallas, the focus now shifts to how quickly the group can respond after seeing its unbeaten streak snapped.

The offensive production remains encouraging, especially with Musa rewriting the record book and Farrington reaching double figures. But the road loss also serves as a reminder that the margin for error remains small as the playoff race tightens.

Dallas will now look to regroup and rebuild momentum after a difficult night in Charlotte.

Fans can relive the match on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 7-9 p.m. CT on FOX 4 PLUS.
