National Arena League Launches “NAL LIFE” — A Groundbreaking Initiative Focused on Leadership, Education, and Empowerment

STWF | October 29, 2025National Arena League (NAL) has officially entered a new era — one that stretches far beyond the walls of the arena. In a bold move to redefine what it means to be a professional athlete, the league announced the launch of “NAL LIFE”, a comprehensive player and community development initiative focused on leadership, education, and empowerment.

The announcement was made during the league’s official podcast, Inside the Walls, signaling a major commitment by the NAL to build not only great football players but also great people.

“We’re not just building better athletes; we’re developing complete individuals who can lead and inspire,” said NAL Commissioner Brandon Ikard. “We want our athletes to win beyond the field. This is how a modern professional league invests in people.”

A New Vision for Arena Football

The NAL LIFE program — whose name stands for Leadership, Inspiration, Future, and Empowerment — aims to prepare players for long-term success both during and after their playing careers. While the league has built a reputation for exciting, fast-paced football since its founding in 2017, this initiative shows that its mission now extends beyond touchdowns and trophies.

Each pillar of NAL LIFE represents a strategic focus area:

  • Leadership: Developing the next generation of leaders on and off the field.

  • Inspiration: Promoting positive role models who can motivate and engage with their communities.

  • Future: Preparing athletes for life after football through career development, mentorship, and education.

  • Empowerment: Equipping players and fans alike to create lasting success in their personal and professional lives.

“NAL LIFE represents what the modern athlete truly is,” Ikard continued. “They’re not just competitors — they’re fathers, entrepreneurs, mentors, and role models. This program is about empowering that complete identity.”

Education Partnership with SNHU

As part of the program’s rollout, the NAL announced a strategic partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) — one of the nation’s leaders in online education.

Through this partnership, players will gain access to degree programs, continuing education opportunities, and career training designed to help them transition successfully after their football careers. The initiative will also include life skills workshops covering financial literacy, leadership development, and personal wellness.

“SNHU has a long history of partnering with organizations that prioritize access to education,” said SNHU President Paul LeBlanc in a statement. “This collaboration with the NAL ensures that athletes — who dedicate years to their sport — have the opportunity and resources to prepare for life’s next chapter.”

The partnership represents a significant step forward for professional indoor football, signaling a model that other leagues may soon emulate.

Community Impact and Growth

In addition to player development, NAL LIFE will include community outreach programs, including youth mentorships, volunteer initiatives, and educational visits across each NAL city. The league intends to leverage its growing national footprint to make a measurable difference in the markets it serves.

Since its inception in 2017, the NAL has evolved into the second-longest active professional indoor football league in the U.S., continuing to expand its operations and market reach. With teams in Colorado, Dallas, Louisiana, Sioux City, Salina, Omaha, and Southwest Kansas, the league is entering a period of rapid growth and heightened visibility.

“We believe in using our platform for something bigger than football,” Ikard said. “If we can impact one community, one classroom, or one player at a time, we’re doing our job.”

A League Evolving Beyond the Game

The launch of NAL LIFE is more than a branding initiative — it’s a statement of purpose. It marks the NAL’s evolution from a fast-growing sports league into a holistic organization that prioritizes people, purpose, and progress.

By investing in leadership, education, and empowerment, the NAL is positioning itself not only as a home for high-level competition but also as a force for positive social and personal development across the sports landscape.

With NAL LIFE now officially underway, one message rings clear: the league’s future isn’t just about championships — it’s about changing lives.
