The Nicholls State softball team competed in the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, facing Iowa twice and Memphis once before closing the tournament against Memphis in the finale. The Colonels showed flashes offensively throughout the weekend and capped the event with a dramatic comeback victory.

Iowa jumped out to an early lead and held off a late Nicholls rally in the opener. The Hawkeyes plated four runs in the first two innings to build separation before the Colonels answered late.
