Next Wave is Here: Texas Rangers’ Top Prospects Headline Frisco Break Camp

STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | March 25, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, have unveiled their 2026 Break Camp roster, assembling a prospect-heavy group that blends high-upside talent with experienced minor league depth as the club prepares for the upcoming Texas League season.

Headlining the roster are five of the Rangers’ top-30 prospects, signaling a strong developmental pipeline and a team positioned to compete. Leading that group is right-handed pitcher Winston Santos, ranked No. 5 in the organization, who anchors what projects to be one of the more intriguing rotations in Double-A.

Santos is joined by a trio of returning arms in right-handers David Davalillo (No. 7 prospect) and Leandro Lopez (No. 14), along with left-hander Josh Trentadue (No. 23). The familiarity among the group provides continuity for a staff that showed flashes of promise in 2025.

The pitching depth extends well beyond the top prospects. Right-hander Ryan Lobus returns after leading the club with 45 appearances last season, while 2025 Rangers Minor League Reliever of the Year Eric Loomis is back following a strong campaign that saw him post a 2.77 ERA across 39 outings. The bullpen is further bolstered by returning contributors Janser Lara, Wilian Bormie, and Bryan Magdaleno, the latter of whom earned Minor League Reliever of the Year honors in 2024.

One of the more intriguing additions to the staff is left-hander Dylan MacLean, who is set to make his Double-A debut after compiling a 3.34 ERA in a versatile role at High-A Hub City. Veteran presence will also play a key role, with Austin Bergner bringing four years of Double-A experience and Jonathan Brand adding depth after time in the Boston Red Sox system. Additional bullpen options include Austin Roberts, Ricardo Velez, Zach Bryant, and Australian left-hander Blake Townsend, who enters the season with a career 2.84 ERA.

Offensively, the spotlight turns to outfielder Dylan Dreiling, the Rangers’ No. 10 prospect, who is set to make his Double-A debut. Dreiling arrives with considerable momentum after a standout collegiate career at Tennessee, where he earned College World Series Most Outstanding Player honors in 2024. He followed that up with a productive 2025 campaign at High-A, hitting 12 home runs and establishing himself as one of the organization’s top young bats.

The lineup also benefits from a mix of returning contributors and experienced additions. Behind the plate, Julian Brock, Tucker Mitchell, and Ian Moller provide stability for a catching unit that limited opponents to just 93 stolen bases last season—one of the best marks in full-season Minor League Baseball.

In the infield, Frainyer Chavez returns for his fifth season with the RoughRiders, joined by Keyber Rodriguez and Theo Hardy, both of whom bring familiarity to the system. Newcomers John Taylor and Jack Blomgren round out the group, adding versatility and depth.

The outfield features a combination of power and experience alongside Dreiling. Keith Jones II returns as a key offensive piece, while Marcus Lee Sang, Orlando Martinez, and Jake Snider add veteran presence with extensive Double-A experience across multiple organizations.

The 2026 campaign will also mark a new era in the dugout, as manager Chad Comer takes over for his first season leading the RoughRiders. He will be supported by a staff that includes pitching coach Thomas St. Clair, hitting coach Jason Hart, bench coach Jorge Hernandez, and development coach Jay Sullenger.

With a roster that features a blend of top-tier prospects, returning contributors, and seasoned minor leaguers, Frisco enters the season with both developmental promise and competitive expectations. For the Rangers organization, the RoughRiders once again serve as a critical proving ground for the next wave of talent.

As Opening Day approaches, all eyes will be on how this group of emerging prospects and experienced players comes together in what could be a defining season for several future major leaguers.
