Stallions Staying Put: Birmingham Fans Celebrate Team’s Return
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Relief and excitement are sweeping through Birmingham as fans celebrate the announcement that the Stallions will be back for another season. The United Football League and team leadership confirmed Friday that the team will remain in the Magic City, putting an end to relocation rumors that had been circulating this summer.
Speculation began when UFL Business Director Mike Repole challenged fans to show their support by putting down 5,000 season-ticket deposits. Many saw it as a condition for keeping the Stallions at Protective Stadium, but Repole later clarified that his comments were more about testing the enthusiasm of the fan base than a strict requirement.
For devoted supporters like Blake Muir, who heads the Stallions’ fan club known as The Horsemen, the official announcement brought joy and relief.
“We love Coach Holtz and all those guys,” Muir said. “When news broke the team was officially coming back, we honestly just lit up.”
Muir added that he hopes to see continued growth next season, including stronger marketing, better scheduling, more players living locally, and expanded television coverage to help the team build on its momentum.
