No, not that Seth Green — but someone is still cashing in.
According to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell, the New Orleans Saints have signed former Houston Cougars tight end Seth Green, who most recently suited up for the UFL’s Arlington Renegades.
Green wrapped up the 2025 UFL season with 13 catches for 159 yards and a touchdown, contributing to a Renegades team that went 5-5. With the UFL season concluding on June 14, he became eligible to sign with an NFL team and worked out with the Saints last week before inking a deal.
What makes Green especially intriguing isn’t just his recent production, but his unconventional path through football. Originally recruited as a quarterback, he began his college career at Minnesota, eventually moving to wide receiver and frequently operating out of the wildcat. He later transferred to Houston, where he transitioned to tight end.
By the time he left Minnesota, Green had more rushing yards (388) than receiving yards (83), showcasing a rare kind of versatility—something the new-look Saints offense under new head coach Kellen Moore could put to good use.Green’s diverse skill set could add an intriguing layer of depth behind Taysom Hill, whose own do-it-all role has been a unique asset to New Orleans for years. With experience at quarterback, receiver, and tight end, Green could serve in a similar hybrid role—whether as a red-zone threat, gadget option, or a wrinkle in short-yardage packages. In a Saints offense being reshaped for flexibility and unpredictability, Green may find just the right fit to make an impact.
