The Dallas Wings announced that forward Maddy Siegrist has been diagnosed with an anterolateral tibial plateau fracture in her right knee. The injury occurred during the Wings’ June 11 matchup against the Phoenix Mercury.
Siegrist, a 6-foot-2 second-year forward, remained on the court briefly before exiting the game after the play. Following the injury, she underwent additional testing late last week while the team was on the road, which confirmed the fracture.
The good news for Dallas and its fans: the injury will not require surgery. Siegrist is expected to make a full recovery and return to action later this season. The team noted that further updates on her progress will be provided when appropriate.
Siegrist has played a key role for the Wings this season, providing energy on both ends of the floor and continuing to develop into one of the league’s promising young forwards. Her absence will be felt as the Wings navigate a competitive stretch in the WNBA schedule
