ARLINGTON, Texas (July 2, 2025) — The Dallas Wings have bolstered their frontcourt depth, signing rookie forward Liatu King to a rest-of-season contract, the team officially announced Wednesday.
The 6-foot standout from Notre Dame was originally selected No. 28 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2025 WNBA Draft. King appeared in 12 games for the Sparks under a hardship contract, averaging 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds while shooting an efficient 50% from the field before being released on June 28.
King’s journey to the WNBA has been defined by steady growth and relentless work ethic. After four productive seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, King transferred to Notre Dame for her graduate year, where she made an immediate impact. In 33 appearances for the Fighting Irish, she averaged 11.5 points and a program-record 10.4 rebounds per game, leading the ACC in defensive rebounds (240) and finishing No. 4 on Notre Dame’s all-time single-season rebounding list (342).
A 2024-25 Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year semifinalist, King also earned All-ACC Second Team and All-ACC Academic Team honors. She wrapped up her collegiate career having averaged a double-double in each of her final two seasons, including a dominant senior campaign with 18.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game at Pitt, which earned her the 2023-24 ACC Most Improved Player award.
The signing adds rebounding presence and interior toughness to a Wings squad that continues to refine its rotation amid a competitive Western Conference playoff push.
King joins a young, energetic Dallas roster aiming to climb the standings and add frontcourt depth for the stretch run.
